VC-1 to h265 conversion cause motion jitter

    I'm trying to do a conversion from vc-1 1080p bluray to h265.

The output file has the same fps. But some frames of the input are skipped while others duplicated. The result is a very uneven motion (jitter) in the video.

    Here is a the log:
    Code:

How are you testing the playback to determine that frames are being dropped/duplicated?

I'm running the video in Vlc or Media Player Cinema using their frame by frame mode.

The question here is whether the problem is occurring in the decode or encode part of the conversion. Are you using GPU for decoding? If so, try setting decode to software and see if it persists.

The decoding is software, as is the encoding.

I have this disc and will try it also, please tell me the settings for the first version you made (the source file for the conversion).

I used XMedia Recode to copy the video/audio streams in a mkv file.
              No conversion.

The issue has been solved in 9.1.8.6beta.

                Good job guys!

I have a comeback of that bug with 9.1.8.8.

This time is with the "The Change-Up" bluray movie. Like the last time, the logs don't show anything unusual.

This time the effective output frame rate is half the rate of the source, even though the file is encoded at the proper frame rate. In other words, the picture changes every two frames (checked with frame by frame viewing in MPC-HC).

The problem exists throughout 9.3 and up to 10.0.2. Framerate is cut in half, each frame is output twice.

I can not say if it is the decode or encode side. But I can reproduce it with a lot of VC1 sources.

Software decode/encode oder hardware Intel QuickSync makes no difference.

It seems this issue isn't still solved on the 10.2.1.6 DVDFab version.
I've been testing to convert VC-1 to H264 with the last updates and always the same problem: motion jitter on all tests, it doesn't matter what I setup when doing the conversion.

Any news about this problem ?
