    4k hevc (h.265) videos don't play properly

    hi

i downloaded some test 4k videos
with h264 its no problem but videos encoded in h.265 (hevc)
don't play properly they stutter heavily
or run in slow motion with audio stutter.
and cpu usage goes to 100%.

    i use an intel i5 4670 with a nvidia 960 gtx
with mpc hc the videos play without problems.
(cpu usages is only at 8-9 % with these videos)

hope you can improve hevc playback with next version
(seems hardware acceleration don't work with hevc videos)

Post a link so I can test on a more powerful computer to see it that's going to make a difference only give me the ones that Fabs media player has trouble with.

Yes, that's the problem with Fab Media Player: no hardware acceleration.

Took me 37 mins to download This 4k hvc 1gig. file with cable modem hi speed.

I downloaded the Mexico video less than 2 mins long video and played it on a I-7 with a GTX 1060 card.Your both correct Fab plays it very choppy and I got no audio they need to improve this. Also Fab only has DXVA no Cuda for hardware acceleration for normal video and nothing for 4k video.

Both Windows media player and Windows movies and TV player played it fine but I had trouble with the latest Mpc hc what are your settings to get it to play I checked the GPU setting anything else need setting?

VLC played audio only and Power dvd 12 didn't play at all.

i use mpc hc 1.7.11 64bit with default settings after installation
          (no additional codec packs installed)
          should look like this:

options > ouput > enhanced video renderer (custom presenter)

          options > internal filters :
source filters : everything selected except "wmv/asf/dvr-ms"
transform filters : everything selected except "wmv1/2/3" and "v210/v410"

options > internal filters > video decoder
hardware decoder to use "dxva2 native"
          resolutions:
          uhd (4k) need a hook

(but this sould be the case with default setup)
prevouis versions of mpc hc had this uhd 4k unselected

here another 4k video in mkv file type this time in h264
          imax trailer
          http://demo-uhd3d.com/fiche.php?cat=uhd&id=56

this video with h264 codec plays fine but starts to stutter in between with dvd fab

          i tested vlc 2.2.4 and nightly 3.0 , mpc hc 1.7.11, windvd pro12 and powerdvd 17 ultra
and dvd fab media player 3.0.0.1

mpc hc is the only player that can play all of my 4k videos without problems.
dvd fab media player clan play them but 4k hevc only with stutter.
vlc has major problems with 4k often picture is unwatchable and some videos stutter.
windvd pro 12 has also problems with 4k crashing with some videos.
power dvd 17 ultra cannot playback this imax video properly showing only 1 frame, plus powerdvd 17 ultra is very unstable playing 4k videos crashing 25% of the time while loading them.

          i use latest nvidia driver

i guess i found the reason:
when i look into dvd fab options, there is an option for hardware acceleraton with h264 but not for hevc (h265)
i guess this is the problem.
          unlike vlc, windvd or powerdvd
dvd fab media player supports ALL of these 4k videos just without hardware acceleration for hevc
so the devs of dvd fab media player just need to add hardware acceleration for hevc codec
then dvd fab should play ALL 4k videos like mpc hc without problems

                  TravelXP 4K - HDR HLG
didn't work, only a few pixels are shown and sound cracks then playback stops after a few seconds

                  Philips Ultra-HD : super shop demo 1
                  played without problems

                  Samsung_UHD_Powerofcurve
                  played without problems

                  imax trailer
only audio is played, playback stops if u try to seek
