3D support of BluRay 3D rips (miniso)

    Hi,

I have successfully ripped my favourite BluRay 3D movies to HD. But when playing back the rips from HD, movies won't show in 3D.

I am using PowerDVD 9 which (in my BD-drive's OEM version) fully supports BulRay 3D playback. This perfectly works with my hardware setting, as long as I play my original BD directly from my BD drive.

However, if I switch the playback source to my HD rip, the movies will only show in 2D. (Interestingly, my TV set however reports to detect some 3D signal on the HDMI input). I've tried and researched, and my only clue is that the *.miniso / Virtual Drive "emulation" does not support the MVC coding - as oppsed to the AVC coding used for 2D playback.

Could you please tell whether DVDFab (incl. Vitual Drive) supports the ripping/playback of BD 3D movies at all, or what the specific restrictions/prerequisites are?

Thanks a lot. Would be pivotal to have the full 3D rip/playback feature in your fabulous software package.

    TJ

If do full disc rip by DVDFab or rip iso by DVDFab Passkey,
after mounting in DVDFab virtual drive, it's native BD 3D movies.

    .miniso will add MVC feature.

      Any experiences from other users?

Thank you Xubin for your reply. I understand that .miniso playback through VirtualDrive enables full 3D features. Anyhow, for me it does not work.

Is there anyone else with (or without) problems playing back movie rips from harddisk in native 3D?

      Cheers
      TJ

Please tell us the detail errors.

        And please answer:
        1. After mount dvdfab.miniso, did you see BDMV\STREAM\SSIF folder, and there is .ssif file(s) inside?
        2. What software player do you use?
        3. Is there any problem playing original Blu-ray 3D disc?

        Thanks.

Hi I ripped a 3d movie using clone then i put the clone back in dvd fab so it can make 3d files everything worked fine but theirs no files in the ssif folder.I have tryed with 3 different movies using the latest fab version.I can use the right and left files in bdmv stream file and watch with steroscopic player and that works.I have power dvd 10 player and it doesn't work with the minstro file mounted, it will play just the opening screen and then just black screen.I cannot play a 3d movie in 3d off a 3d disk but can play the regular bluray file just fine in both above players. My Pioneer bd-rw BDR-205 bluray burner may not be able to play 3d dvds from disk but it works with dvd fab to make 3d dvds just fine so it reads them ok to files but like i said with the files from the stream file you can watch the 3d bluray using steroscopic player. My logs are below shouldn't fab be making the files in the ssif folder even if i can't play a 3d bluray from disk?
Could you explain the way this is suppose to work is this suppose to work with any 3d softwear player?

            Hi glenns,

The volume label 'PR41NNE2' is which Blu-ray disc?

            >> Could you explain the way this is suppose to work is this suppose to work with any 3d softwear player?
            1). DVDFab, select "Copy [B]as Blu-ray 3D" when do 3D rip.
2). Mount dvfab.miniso to DVDFab Virtual Drive 1.3.6.0
3). Play the 3D movie in Virtual Drive

Thanks Fengtao for adding MVC support and for your input.

ad 1: I have ripped the disk ca. 9 month ago to my hard drive. There is a SSIF folder - yet it is empty. Also after recreating the .miniso with VirtualDrive 1.3.6.0 as shown here, and after mounting it: there is a SSIF folder, yet it is empty.

ad 2/3: I am using Cyberlink PowerDVD, and it works fine playing back 3D from BD directly.

Is it mandatory to have a .ssif file for 3D playback to work? Which is the first DVDFab version to support 3 ripping?

...seems I will need to re-rip the disc.

                @Tom&Jerry

Plz use the latest version of DVDFab to re-rip.

                .ssif files are mandatory.

Xubin: The title prninne2 is from Pirates of the caribbeann stranger tides 3-d.
I can't seem to rip a 3d dvd and get any files in the Issf folder I tryed 4-5 different movies all ripped with the latest fab version to clone then put back in fab to make full disk 3d files with miniso. All seems to go ok but in the stream file their's just a empty SSIF file.

I can use the 2 largest files in the stream file and play with stereoscopic player but i can't play the 3d files with power dvd 10 using the minsio file only the regular non 3d movie will play.

Just so you know i can't play a 3d bluray from disk only the regular bluray will play not the 3d unless i look at the files on the disk and use the 2 largest files with stereoscopic player then it will play in 3d on my Samsung 3d plasma from disk but only if i use passkey with a encrypted disk.My log files for the pirates of the caribbean 3d is a few posts above i was on vacation so i couldn't get back to you sooner.

Am i doing something wrong or am I miss understanding that the new minsio can be used once loaded into Virtual drive 1.3.6.0. or later and can be used to play full 3d movies in power dvd 10 3d?

                    @glenns

Please download 1.3.7.0 prerelease at: http://209.172.55.6/upload/DVDFabVirtualDrive1370.exe

After install it, use DVDFab Virtual Drive to create 3D .miniso as describe in: http://forum.dvdfab.com/showthread.php?t=17118

Even with the new 1.3.7.0. I still can't get Issf files in the folder it comes up empty before or after i mount the miniso when looking at the stream file. The log Files look good like the one in my first post no errors and i tryed 2 different 3d disks.

Can you send the dvdfab.miniso file to xubin@dvdfab.com?

                              1) If use DVDFab to create 3D miniso
Select Bluray Copy -> Full Disc, and checked create miniso file option

                              2) If use Passkey
After decrypted by Passkey, copy all files except BDMV\STREAM\SSIF folder to harddisk, then use DVDFab Virtual Drive "Create miniso file".

After create the miniso file, mount it by DVDFab Virtual Drive, then use the Virtual 3D drive as normal.
