    BD Ripper (3D Plus) Process reported as completed successfully although it's not

    Trying to rip the first disc of Game of Thrones season 5 containing episodes 1 and 2. After the disc has been analyzed I check the titles I want to rip and click start.

    After doing that it only takes a couple of seconds until I get the confirmation the process completed successfully but of course that is not true since the process only lasted for a couple of seconds. Looking in the output folder I have two files (one for each episode) but they are both 0 kB.

    Didn't have any problems with season 1-4 using version 10.0.1.7 or season 6 using version 10.0.2.0 where I'm now using version 10.0.2.2 so now I'm wondering if something changed in this version that could explain my issue? Or if there's something different with season 5 of Game of Thrones vs season 1-4 and 6?

    did you try clicking common settings - av codec - and set everything to software
    restart dvdfab and try the discs again.

      I just restored an old system image where I was using 10.0.1.9 and the problem is gone so clearly something changed in the latest version causing this behavior.

      Will try what you suggest though when I go back to the most current version when I'm done ripping and will report back.

        So I'm now back using 10.0.2.2 and sure enough the problem is also back.

        I tried your tip by checking the 'Disable all GPU codecs for decoding and encoding' which resulted in software rather than CUDA for all decoders and encoders listed.

        This did solve the problem but it also increased the ripping time with what seemed to be almost twice the time it takes vs using CUDA (which again is working just fine in previous versions) so whatever was changed in 10.0.2.2 stopping CUDA from working correctly I hope it can be fixed.

              Will give it a go when I get home today and will report back to you.

              Then a totally different question - is there a known problem with the email notifications in this forum? Because I never receive any email notifications even when I have that option enabled for all threads I participate in.

                Hello,

                I've got exactly the same issue with the Game of Thrones season 5. All other seasons worked fine. Read a lot inside the whole forum, it's definitly the CUDA issue, after set everything to "software" it's working fine. Did a cross test with Casino Royal BluRay disc just to confirm (switched back to CUDA support, no files no ripping, in software mode it worked great).

                Current DVDfab ver: 10.0.2.2
                Current Nvidia driver: 378.66

                Will try the test version now and let you know...

                Update:
                I'm sorry to tell you that i's not working with this version. Same behavior, with software it's working, with CUDA it's finishing within 10 seconds and no file is created. Found this in the log files:

                0m 10.25s: --- connect filter failed(module_hwvtranscode_cuda init_cuda_trans_failed) ---

                Hope that helps...if I can do more please let me know. I'm very interested in to resolve this issue. Btw, I tried two other Nvidia driver (376.33 & 378.49) none of them worked.

                  Same result here with the new version as posted above by trashino3000, no go with CUDA enabled but working fine with software.

                          got the same issue with 10.2.5 downgraded now back to 10.2.2 and CUDA with H265 is back on working

                              I had this problem as well after installing nVidia driver version 378.66 and was able to correct it by rolling back my nVidia drivers to version 376.53 while using DVDFab 10.0.2.5. Upgrading to version 10.0.2.6 of DVDFab made the same thing occur even with the older nVidia drivers. Upgrading the nVidia drivers to the latest 378.66 didn't work with version 10.0.2.6 either. After downgrading back to 10.0.2.5 as well as rolling back nVidia drivers to 376.53 things are working again. If it makes a difference I am running a 980Ti and I have attached my logs in case they are helpful.
