Fab Player 3.1.0.0. 4k h265 videos unusual cpu load

    hi

thx for adding hardware support for h265 with 3.1.0.0.
but dvd fab media player behave a bit strange while playing
    4k h265 videos.

the videos play without stutter but cpu usages is strange:

    i use an i5 4670 with gtx 960 driver 382.05 and win10

the videos start with cpu load at 65%
after 1 second it goes to 36% and stays there for 50-90 seconds
depending on video, then it goes down to 6%.
when u seek the video it goes back to 36%.

with mpc hc the cpu usage is always at about 8%
(i use "dxva2 native" with mpc hc)

1 video still makes problems with 3.1.0.0.
    the mkv imax trailer
    http://demo-uhd3d.com/fiche.php?cat=uhd&id=56

when i open it dvd fab media player
says that my device does not support hardware decoding for h265
the video is played with software decoing with minor stutter at the end.

again with mpc hc it works without problems

seems dvd fab media player 3.1.0.0 supports only dxva 1.0 and not 2.0
hope this can be changed with next version

I had no problem playing that video with a I-7 and GTX1060 card but i did get the Fab message when i open it fab media player
says that my device does not support hardware decoding for h265 and will switch to software and that can cause playback problems I had to switch audio to English soundtrack also. This was a 10 bit hi bit rate trailer.

Maybe you had other programs running in the background many programs are always running check in Task manger. The program may use a buffer so when buffer is full maybe it uses less power till needed to fill it again also could explain the search mode using more CPU power.

The other program played it back without the message of no h265 Acceleration.
Fab plays the trip around Mexico 4k h265 the former version had trouble with fine now.

      hmmmm yep could be
but also normal playback uses more cpu power for over 1 minute

      h264 4k are ok with 4%

may be its dxva 2.0 vs 1.0 or its something else

Go into resource monitor even not used you will see your CPU usage don't look at processor usage.look at the ever changing CPU usage and what programs are running.while idle the CPU will jump around and the displayed programs will change position in the list when used even when computer is idle.Norton security will also run and update in the background as well as many others.Norton will even do a scan in the background several a day.My defraggler program runs at set time as well as other programs like it with set run times you set all in the back round. My phone is hooked to the internet so that also runs 24/7 taking messages when I don't answer and waiting for a ring. Then there's blue tooth and streaming and alarm systems all working in the back round.

Their are dozens of programs that go on the internet to check for and get updates every hour more often for security programs their are up daters of all sorts like the programs windows use for example Java.Explorer.every internet program every browser and what they use gets updated all the time windows updates and at least 20 other programs all working behind the scenes.Your mail program is working all the time receiving, sorting junk mail all take CPU usage and or GPU usage when running programs.

well i guess background programms are not the problem

mpc hc uses 8% all the time
          except for the imax trailer
seems mpc hc cannot use hardware decoding with that as well

dvd fab media player uses 36% with h265
for 50-90 seconds after the video starts

its not a big problem but there must be a reason for it

at least dvd fab media player can play all videos now :-)
it can even seek old wmv files created without index (they are unseekable with mpc hc)

No it can't the promised full 3d never made it into this product.

The windows media player can't play that video as well. This video has FLAC uncompressed sound and needs Directshow filter added to a player to work.
