6.0.6.0 Main Move - mutliple copies Problem

    Hi All,

It's not often I make more than one backup of any one disc but have found a problem with the latest release.

    DVD to DVD
DVDFab v6.0.6.0 "Main Move" - using ImgBurn

    1) Do a backup this run's through fine rips and burns no problems
    2) Do a 2nd copy via "Burn again" -- also does this no problems.

    3) Press 'Finish' and then get the DVDFab registration page -- I exit out of this and DVDFab closes.

Just to prove this wasn't a one off I re-ran the above steps on a seperate disc and got the same symptoms.

It's not a major issue as I can re-start but is annoying all the same.

    Best,

    Asbac

    P.S. Like the new forum

Hi Asbac, glad to see you here.

I have never tried this, and that is an strange result. I'll see if I can duplicate it.
Did it do this before 6.0.6.0?

      Strange indeed.
I can count on one hand the number of times I've used the 'Burn again' option, but I just attempted to reproduce your problem using
      DVD to DVD (v. 6.0.6.0), Img (2.5.0.0).

      No dice, it worked perfectly.
Following the 2nd burn, I hit 'Finish' and the application remained "open" as is normal.

An annoyance to be sure, but depending upon the number of 'Burn again' discs, probably not worth pursuing unless the problem persists with the next release.
You might consider simply re-installing 6.0.6.0 though.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

          Hi Guys,

yeah this is no biggie for me as it's not often I do more than one backup but wanted a spare copy for a trip....

Reading back the only thing I did, which I did not describe properly was this -- I have two DVD burners on my Rig, (NEC 3540a and NEC 1300a)

I had two new disc's I was making a backup of and only one of these 2 copies, so it went something like this.....

          1) 1st disc, did backback and burn -- all OK
--- 1st "source" disk then ejected

At this point I put in the 2nd source disc and closed the drive in preperation to do a a backup of this.

          2) Did 'Burn Again' (of 1st source disc no longer in drive), onto another blank and again all OK.

          3) After this then did 'Finish' and I suspect DVDFab was then trying to read the 2nd (new) source disc) but that's when I had a problem.

I cannot explain why this happened when I repeated the exercise as was only doing this on one disc then but have just repeated the processs today (onto a -RW) and this only seems to happen when a 2nd source disc has been inserted between burns if that makes sense.

Prior to this I followed all you advice (as always - tkx) and did a clean install but still no dice.

I didn't get a chance to try a previous version of DVDFab but have some on my PC so if I get a chance will do this and let people know.

          Cheers All,

          Asbac

I have been seeing this since 6.0.4.0. Like you said, not a biggie but an inconvenice. I've looked to see if it's something I'm doing wrong or some setting that has changed, and haven't found anything. I normally use Imgburn, set to 3 copies. Grandkids share movies. When I make only 1 copy, I cancel on Imgburn and click finished on DVDFab and get the same problem.

              @ Troy512

Hiya, thanks for the post but that's part of the issue.

Yes I have registered DVDFab and completed the form once and ticked for do not show again.

The issue here is that a 'Blank form' is displayed if I do more that one copy and change the source disk in-between.

As above it's not a huge issue for me but seems someone else has it too and would like to get it right.

              Thanks again for help.
