Why is that 8.0.7.3 had no audio sync issues and 8.0.7.3 and with 8.0.8.5 you have to play around with the framerate and audio bitrate to achieve sync. One thing I liked about DVDFab it worked all that out. 8.0.7.3 doesn't have this issue at all, and how do I know 23.976fps is the correct setting.

I agree. It's a little disturbing to me, but I know they will fix it. I just hope it's sooner than later. I just bought this program about a month ago and it's gone to pot since then. Perhaps it's all my fault! :)

Same problem as you... I have went back and forth between the settings on the two versions and the framerate comes up automatically as a different setting. 8.0.8.5 would come up as 23.976, while 8.0.7.3 comes up as 24. I tried to set 8.0.8.5 as 24 and the audio / sync problem went away. But yeah, they need to fix it or something. :)

Same with me. The wmv file options seem to be the worst and xbox 360 are out of sync. i wish it was in sync will post my logs when i do a test dvd

You can use Mediainfo to find out what the framerate is for the DVD to make sure DVDFab is selecting correct one.

WMV is broke and I do not think there's any intention of fixing it. I have tried everything possible to get a sync'd WMV file. Custom profiles. Various settings. Written to Feng. Since this post has now been pushed down the list of topics by many, many more customers with Audio Synch issues, it might be worth creating a sticky post about Audio Synch advising them to try 8.0.7.3. Since reverting to that version I have had zero failures due to audio synch on DVDs. Until whatever has been broken since 8.0.7.3 has been fixed I think it would save a lot of customers a lot of heartache.

It's hardly the point though, I bought DVDFab so I didn't have to pull everything apart and put it back together longhand. It all worked perfectly (for DVDs) at 8.0.7.3 so I'm back on that version now until this issue is fixed.

I am in the process of installing 8703 right now to get around this problem. I purchased this program for ease of use, and that is simply not happening now. If I wanted to jack around with all this stuff, there are plenty of free options out there.

yep, agree with what has been said audio sync in version 8.0.7.3 works fine, and it gets progressively worse in 8.0.8.5 (so by the end of a 90 min film it's off by a few seconds). In 8.0.7.3 you have the option of setting frame rate to the same as source - this appears to be gone in 8.0.8.5 - it does go to the correct frame rate, 25 in my case - but it just doesn't work for any dvds I convert. Was hoping to purchase the dvd converter tool this week - but this is putting me off shelling out for it.

Using the Xbox setting in Bluray Ripper, it only offers me the wmv/10 and mp4/hd settings. Neither of which allow me to choose the framerate- it only allows "same as source." I have seen some other posts that indicate they are not able to select the framerate. What can I do to be able to manually select the framerate?

That seems right. I've resorted to going back to 8.0.7.3 and other than a few random problems I'm having not too much of a problem with ripping. In another thread I had started someone had stated that they were aware of a WMV problem (it's broke was his wording) and to stay tuned for an update. That was a month to 2 months ago. I'm hoping there's a fix sooner than later.

I just tested 8.0.8.8 on Sherlock Holmes. While it took me 2 tries due to not knowing that the longest length video on the disc was directors commentary which the sync was horrendous on, the second try using WMV worked perfectly fine. I'm now trying Iron Man 2 which in the past has given me some serious problems as well.

Just tried 8.0.8.8qt Bluray Ripper to WMV and audio is still out of sync. It's hard to tell from some of the posts if people are referring to ripping DVDs or Bluray- it would be nice to confirm if the audio sync is still a problem for both, or just one.

When i used it, it worked on every movie I did except for Sherlock Holmes.

The A/V sync fix for DVD Ripper is in the 8088 Qt Beta. I have not had any sync problems with Blu-ray Ripper in 8085 or 8088.

Audio Sync Issues STILL with mkv.remux (some DVDs)

Tried my test DVD (Andrea Bocelli Under a Desert Sky), using mkv.remux and still have audio sync issues (10's of seconds). Tried with 8073, 8085 and 8080b QT. As reported previously, this seems to be an mkv.remux issue, as I have no sync issues with vob passthrough.
Trying things like "try this or that version", "change encoding to software", and "check the air in the tires" is starting to get old.
This forum is loaded with audio sync issue posts. How hard can mkv.remux be - there are no settings to set! All settings limited to "same as source" - which is what I want. I don't mind beta testing free software, but I paid for this software. Lets go guys, focus.

What output format where you using? All of my WMV's are out of sync. I just tried a M2TS and it is in sync. (These were using Bluray ripper)

Just checked sync on Iron Man 2 rip and it is off. Progressively worse throughout the movie. By th end, it's a good 3 to 5 seconds off. I'm trying another rip right now. It sucks that I have to spend many hours doing this only to fail and have to spend many more hours doing this to see if another rip will work.

I could never get the M4v to play on my xbox. Always errors out on the xbox. I may try it again with 8.5

Avatar ripped with a sync issue on computer only. On the Xbox is plays fine. Just keeping a running log of what movies seem to have issues to see if this is consistent.

Im a noobie here & to the world of dvd ripping.
I just recently bought a version of dvd fab but from my understanding i need to revert back to version 8073, can tghis be done & how.
I just tried ripping my dvd of quantum leap to my hdd but its completley out of sync, i should add that its a american version
any help would be appreciated

Not necessary in most cases. Try the newest version, DVDFab v8.0.9.1. Some users are having problems installing it, most are not.
