I just noticed this when trying to backup a Blu-Ray. It says Convert DTS/LPCM Audio to AC3. As far as I know, I don't want this. I want the DTS/LPCM to remain as-is. Is there any way to turn this off? Thanks.

For BD5/BD9 output, it's actually AVCHD format, it doesn't support DTS/LPCM from specification, so we need convert it to AC3, although some players support DTS/LPCM for BD5/BD9, so you need check it on your player and decide.Also, converting to AC3 saves more space for video stream.

I don't think this option is working correctly at all... I've attempted several backups now to both BD9 & BD25 - regardless of the audio options set the resulting output is ALWAYS AC3... ...which I don't want.....and previously I've never had this issue... This would appear to be yet another of the 'bugs' introduced in these recent versions of the product... The internal logs ALWAYS show this line, regardless of the settings within the program :- 14m 23.37s: CompressToAC3: 1 Please fix this....

I'm using Blu-ray Copy to copy to a hard drive folder. It doesn't matter if I'm using a folder or ISO output. Under settings I have "BD50" as the default output size.This is true for the 2 movies I tried to back up: Soul Surfer and Silence of the Lambs SE.

that's Dts "core" you have there...you must have the "Remove HD audio" selected.

Its definitely not converting to AC3, so that's not an issue.

when you copy your movie to the Hard Drive, try re-opening up with fab (your folder, not the bluray disc)...what audio does it show?

Seriously, I didn't show it in that last screenshot but the box is available to be checked, but it is not. It's unchecked.

So sanity check: Does this disc even have LCPM? Am I getting geeked up about nothing? I want it ripped to my hard drive folder exactly as it is on the disc - no conversion, no compression, no nothing.

No, your disc has Dts-HD Master Audio...no "Uncompressed PCM" audio (like in my )

Uncompressed PCM, Dts-HD MA & Dolby TrueHD audio are all Lossless audio...aka the best. ;)

now for playback, you will need a receiver that can decode Dts-HD MA, or a player that can decode...and via HDMI.

Yeah, that's the easy part. I have a Denon 2308CI and Marantz 6005 (not in the same room!) both running from ION based XBMC PC's over a Gig-E network. I'll fire this up shortly & see what I get.

Post #28 shows you have the DTSHD master track. There is no other way to explain this.

Stereo?

In order to make my movie viewable on all devices, I removed the HD and then converted to ac3. Inspection of the file shows that the movie is now only stereo and not 5.1. Is that what ac3 is supposed to do?
