pawnslinger I am using DVD ripper in DVDFab to produce mp4 files that are playable on both iPad and PS3 using a DLNA server. This works well, but sometimes my output file is using CABAC instead of Baseline... and then it plays very jerky. In this case, I am forced to use another conversion step (with a different program) to generate the final Baseline file that can be played smoothly. I do not know why CABAC is created sometimes and not at other times. I don't know how to stop DVDFab from generating CABAC and just stick with Baseline. Can anyone suggest how to do this? I am using the ipad.default profile.
pawnslinger Here is another, it seems that my DLNA clients, mostly blu-ray players, would like the streamed files to be in "mpegts" format... whatever that is. Is there someway to have DVDFab generate this type of file??
Hooded The mpegts file type are created using the to M2TS on the DVD/Blu-ray Ripper products. It is the native format for blu-ray files. This is what I use and it works great with my DLNA server setup streaming to my TV's and Blu-ray players. This does not need to be transcoded. I would use the mkv files but I find not all of the blu-ray players or TV's seem to support this format with out transcoding by the DLNA server. I choose m2ts.passthrough or m2ts.audiocopy.high_quality depending on if it's a blu-ray or a dvd I'm ripping. Hope this helps
