Hey chaostoday,
I have never had any issues with them, both on a Sony burner and now on LG burners. I have the DVD Fab Write setting at 4X, even tho my burner is 6X. The slower, the better.. I can altho don't use the 2X speed..
No issues tho on Optimum discs at all tho, wheter they are 4X or 6X. As long as you have the burner write setting within your disk speed requirement, it doesn't matter.
I don't know what the glenns is talking about with backward writing... it is a mute point if your settings are set up so they won't try to write faster than the disk will allow... Verbatim disks are very good, but they are priced higher. I have used Verbatim both as a regular DVD copy (always) and have tried the Blu-Ray disks as well. Just a higher price, and I have had a couple coasters on Verbatim disks back when I had a Sony burner.......Bought for their sale price 1 time and tried, then went back to Optimum 100%.
NewEgg is classic to put disks on sale for 1 week, then off until they replenish their stock. I have learned to get them in quantity when they are on sale, but if you aren't sure, or you have never tired them, then don't go crazy until you feel comfortable with them..
Thank you Dcc1048!!! Again, you are very wise. The Optimum have burned well. I'm 3 for 3 so far with zero coasters! I'm very happy and excited. I agree with everything you said regarding disc quality and burning with proper settings and speeds.
I was surprised to know that my 3 discs have apparently burned with the VSO burning engine. My Imgburn normally launches when I make a back-up of a DVD but when making a Blu-Ray Imgburn doesn't launch. Weird but maybe not to you.... Thanks again
