Mastermindjb:Here is the steps to make a protected disk with fab:
1) Start DVDFab and insert the disc you want to back up.
2) Select Clone copy mode in Blu-ray Copy.
3) Click on the ISO output box near the bottom of the DVDFab window to let it know you want to write to HDD.
4) A checkbox will appear that says "Keep Protection", put a checkmark here.
5) Click Start.
The disk is said to only be playable in Fab media player but you can try this now that you have the 50 gig rewritable disk.
Were you able to get a disk with copy protection made with imgburn so you can try it? as if you were as i was you can put it back in fab and see Fab take the protection back off the disk this way you know its made with the protection back on the disk. Both a shot in the dark for playing on the xbox one but then we will know if it doesn't work.
The other protected disk I was talking about also made with fab is only if cinavia is on the disk then it gives you a choice in advanced settings to make a protected copy to play on the old play stations and some other players this does this in a slightly different way also a shot in the dark.
Only way we know for sure to make this work is like the moderator said use Fab blu ray to dvd on a -r disk.Fab is working on this so their could be a solution in the future.
I attempted to perform the backup just as you described it above in your list. The only thing I did not do is check and see if DVDFab attempted to remove the protections after the disc was already burned. Unless something failed along the way I am unaware of, this method is a 'no go'. I haven't come across a personal disc with Cinavia just yet, and that check box is greyed out if it doesn't (as I'm sure you are already well aware.) I'm not at home this weekend, took the kids skiing. I'll try it again when I get back. Once again, thank you for all the input.
