Audio CD problem

When Passkey is enabled & a commercial Audio CD is in one of my drives Passkey has problems.
First it doesn't read the Audio CD correctly.
There is an Audio CD in this drive.
This is what it shows:

This is what Windows Explorer shows with Passkey on:

This is what Windows Explorer shows with Passkey off:
The commercial Audio CD is properly detected by Windows Explorer.

This is how I have Passkey set:
What I expect Passkey to do is "Remove CD Digital Audio Protection".
If Passkey shows "No Disc in drive" as above I don't see how it is removing CD Digital Audio Protection.
I hope this can be explained to me.

BTW in case someone notices the images for Windows Explorer were done in a different drive.
Both drives looked the same & I was testing to see if a different drive would work with Passkey.

also you can use dvdfab, click common settings - drives - Hybrid Disc - tic enable hybrid disc support
then in the drop down menu select CD

I looked at the link.
It is for ripping with WMP.
I don't use WMP & I have it disabled in "Windows features" so it doesn't ever come on.

I can rip an Audio CD.
I use EAC .

The problem is Passkey shows "No disc in drive" when there is an Audio CD in the drive.
To me if Passkey shows that message . How can it "Remove CD Digital Audio Protection".
That is what I want Passkey to do. In case there is any protection.
This is a feature Passkey is supposed to have.

A different software on a different computer & drive shows this information:

I'm certain it will show the same information with the other software except for the drive.

I'm sure you know why I don't name the other software & I don't plan to.

Passkey is supposed to do the same thing.

Passkey won't open a CD so it can't be copied to drive or ISO made same problem as post above.Passkey Settings are checked and ok but doesn't work.

It has been 13 days since I replied to this topic.

I installed the new Passkey 9.3.2.1 this morning & tested a commercial Audio CD with two different optical drives.
Same results as the first post.
So Passkey isn't working correctly with Audio CDs.

I usually post a log as an attachment but this one is very short.
I cleared all but the last Audio CD I opened.
Passkey still showed "No disc in drive" on it's "Info" screen.
It also showed media type as unknown.

DVDFab Media Player 5 wouldn't play the commercial Audio CD with Passkey on or off.
My other media players played the Audio CD both ways except for WinAmp.
WinAmp would only play if Passkey was off.

There has already been one update since I started this topic.
I was using Passkey v9.3.2.0 when I started this topic.
Post 5 & 6 I had installed Passkey v9.3.2.1 .
I can wait for another update .

Here are a couple of things I've tested with the same results:
The computer I tested with Windows 7 32-bit has only SATA optical drives.
The computer I tested using Windows Vista 32-bit has only IDE optical drives.

I also installed some older versions of Passkey with the same results.
So it appears that this has not been working for a long time.

I know that commercial Audio CDs probably are not a priority .
Most don't even have any protection.
For those that do a software like Passkey is needed to run in the background & remove it. [h=2][/h]

Same results as first post.
Passkey still shows:

Disc Media: Unknown (Unknown)
Disc is not opened

I can "Open" this commercial Audio CD with Windows explorer, WinAmp & a couple of other media players while Passkey is on or enabled.
So the CD disc is opened a couple of ways.

The new update hasn't fixed the problem.

I only used two CDs to test with .
One of those CDs is one that Exact Audio Copy will run it's "Detect read sample offset correction." with .
If you have ever done this with EAC you know that very few CDs are usable for this.

To note I have several hundred Commercial Audio CDs but I don't plan to test them all .
If you have a Commercial Audio CD that you know works I might have it.
Of course you know that the same title can be from different presses & that can change results.

At this point this is a bug that needs to be fixed in Passkey.

This is 3 updates since I reported this problem & still no fix.
I've only been testing with my two internal optical drives after the first post.
I doubt that testing with my external USB optical drives will be different.
I have two of those I can test with.
None are the same model drive as the others.

How many updates do I have to wait for before the "developers" fix this ?

It seems a problem with Audio CDs would be much simpler to fix than the blu-ray or BD problems that get fixed.
After all an Audio CD is almost the oldest disc technology there is.

Passkey 9.3.2.6 fixed the CD problem with removing CD Digital Audio Protection & showing the disc as an Audio CD.

There is now this bug in doing this. Most of the information about the drive with an Audio CD in it disappears.
I included a DVD to show that not all discs cause this problem.
I also tried it with my other internal drive & the results were the same.

This is what the Passkey information window shows:
