UHD Drive Tool is not stable

Trying to use the tool to modify the firmware. EVERY time the tool starts, it flashes on the screen for about 1-2 seconds and then dies. The log is attached. It is detecting my WH14NS40 drive as having firmware that can be modified yet every time, the application dies before allowing any access.

What to do?

Is there anything that could be blocking this? Avast Business? I have disabled it with the same result.

Looks to be crashing as it goes looking for drives for some reason. If you have any virtual drive system running, turn it off, also try turning off autoplay. Look in the activity logs for any security software, including Windows Defender and Firewall to see if they have logged any blocks or quarantines that might be related. Take the temp files off of OneDrive, may not be related but not a great idea in my opinion.

Before starting DriveTool, can you see the drive to be flashed in Windows Explorer (may have to put a disc in it in some cases).

Turned off OneDrive and Google Backup/Sync.
Disabled Avast AV (all shields)

Further, Stopped all VMware (workstation) related processes and it still fails:

try uninstalling the WH14NS40 drive then restart your computer
and let windows reinstall the drive, then try re running the firmware downgrade tool
to see if that works.

The tool can also be blocked by unknown device filter drivers in your registry. To check and manage these, install the free ImgBurn burning application if you do not already have it. You may want to make a backup of your registry before doing this.

Start ImgBurn with the drive connected but no discs in the tray
From the menu, select Tools->Filter Driver load order
If you see any entries for the drive lower class filter that you dont recognize, click on it to populate the information to see what software placed it ( so that you can re-install it if necessary)
Delete the filter using the ImgBurn controls
Close ImgBurn and try the Tool again

Tried this (every time, disabling all Avast Shields):
1. Uninstalled WH14NS40 . Rebooted. Run DVDFab. Same result, the app opens and then closes.
2. Uninstalled other DVD. Rebooted. Run DVDFab.Same result, the app opens and then closes.
3. Disconnected other DVD. Rebooted. Run DVDFab. Same result, the app opens and then closes.
4. Install Image Burn 2.5.8.0. Run it. Select Toos-> Filter Driver Load Order.
-> upper device filter (none found), all version info is N/A
-> upper class filter (none found), all version info is N/A
-> device CD/DVD-ROM Device, all version info is N/A
-> lower class filter (none found), all version info is N/A
-> lower device filter (none found), all version info is N/A
5. Run DVDFab. Same result, the app opens and then closes.
6. Tried running as administrator. Same result, the app opens and then closes.

Output from log files still looks similar (first run as user, second as administrator)

I think I found the BUG pertaining to my scenario.
Your software does not like the DVD/BD drives with a drive letter sitting at B:
The only thing I changed was to move my DVD/BD drives to T/U and the software works like it is supposed to now.
