Subject: Feature Request: Enhanced Audio/Subtitle Selection and Personalized VPN Integration
I would like to suggest a significant improvement in the audio and subtitle selection processes across various streaming platforms (e.g., Crunchyroll, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, HBO Max, etc.). Additionally, I propose enhancements related to network connectivity options within the application.
1. Default “Original Production Audio” Priority (Japanese, etc.)
It would be extremely useful if a personalized option were available to predefine the “Original Production Audio” as the default choice.
Automatic Selection with Improved Logic: If the original production (such as an anime made in Japan) has its original audio in Japanese available, it should be automatically selected, prioritizing it over any dubbing options (e.g., Portuguese or English).
Crucial Difference Regarding the Existing Option (Reservation): Currently, there is an option to use the existing or pre-selected audio, but my perception is that this option follows the current configuration of the browser player. The problem is that if the user copies a link where the video is automatically configured for a dubbing (Portuguese/English), StreamFab assumes this dubbing as the “existing” audio, instead of searching for and selecting the true original source audio (Japanese).
Please correct me if I am wrong on this point, but my suggestion is that the software should be able to intelligently detect and prioritize the original language of the production, regardless of what is playing in the browser at the time of the link copy.
2. Improved Subtitle Identification
The current display of subtitle languages can be confusing. I suggest enhancing clarity in the subtitle selection menu:
Native Language Display with Translation: Language names presented in native characters (such as 日本語, 中文, etc.) should be accompanied by their translation in English (or the user’s interface language).
Example: Instead of just 日本語, it should appear as 日本語 (Japanese).

- Constant Visibility: Currently, this information only appears if specific conditions are met (e.g., more than two subtitles selected). It would be highly beneficial for this full, descriptive label to be always visible for better identification.

3. Personalized VPN Integration and Regional Content
I suggest adding more flexible network options within the software:
Personal VPN Option: An option should be added that allows the use of a personal VPN as an alternative to the built-in proxy settings.
Region Selector: Alternatively, it would be useful to include a specific country selector before the video quality options are displayed, facilitating the unlocking of content restricted to specific regions.
The rationale for this request is based on current technical issues: using a personal VPN often causes problems with the synchronization of audio and the speech frames of the anime, which means the audio, video, and subtitles do not match up correctly in the final downloaded file.
4. Synchronization Issues and Multiple Players (Crunchyroll)
I suspect that the audio and video synchronization issues (mentioned above in the VPN section) might be related to the existence of multiple players on Crunchyroll.
- StreamFab may have a standard timing for synchronizing and saving audio, video, and subtitles from a normal player. However, if a second, different player (perhaps used for specific dubs or streams) is used, and StreamFab applies the preset timing of the first player to it, this will result in incorrect desynchronization in the final file.
