Remember, those "scene rippers" and others of that type only have to get it right once. They crack it and off to the world it goes. They don't have to worry about changes in DRM because their product is out there and can be available on torrent and file hosting sites for years to come. They can put out their finished product in any way they want. If they don't want to include subtitles in Swahili, they don't have to. SF can't get away with that, they have to provide for everyone in the world's native language. And they have to do it on the fly.
SF is constantly doing battle against the streaming services and to be honest, their customers. Day after day I see the same posters here reporting problems, most of which no one else is having. And do you think they will give a good description of the problem or even a copy of their logs? No. SF has to take time to track it down anyway, even if it is obvious that it is the user's computer system or their lack of knowledge that is causing the problem. Yet you never see Mona and Support be rude or condescending.
I do not agree with you about downsizing. It isn't like they only have one programmer on staff and he/she has his/her priorities mixed up. Besides, with few exceptions, most of the newer streaming services that have been added aren't even DRM protected. The dirty little secret is they could be gotten by using the 100+ free generic "YouTube downloader" programs that are everywhere. SF doesn't really need to devote their top engineers and a great of time to fixing those services.
Should SF be setting their highest priority to fixing the problems on the big name DRM protected services? Absolutely! But that doesn't mean that they aren't already doing that and they just haven't succeeded yet. You don't think SF wouldn't love to advertise that they allow you to download from all the services as UHD and get any subtitles you want? Do you think Mona likes hearing about 480p downloads? If they were a "fly-by-night" company they probably wouldn't care. They'd make some money and disappear (or rename their product and make you pay for it again.) DVDFab has been around for about 20 years and it looks to me that they want to be around for at least another 20.
