HBO Max Wrong Bitrate Label and Please Standardize Labels in Download Window

Remember when a lot of people reported selecting a resolution/bitrate and the one actually downloaded was not even close?

Well this is happening now on HBO Max.

I noticed the Video Selection drop-down had unusually high bitrates for HEVC/H265 videos but i was kinda like whatever...

When downloading Movies from HBO Max in H265, i usually select the bitrate closest to 3500kbps as i find it a great compromise between quality and file size.

The resolutions/bitrates being shown by StreamFab seem to be the AVC/H264 ones even though i have it set to download in HEVC/H265:

When selecting 1080p @ 6829 kbps, the movie actually downloads at 1080p @ 3809 kbps.

As a matter of fact, i downloaded a lot of movies that will be removed from HBO Max on the 28th and i picked 1080p @ 68xx kbps for all of them and all of them downloaded in the 38xx kbps range:

All of them downloaded at 1080p except for Assassination Nation which downloaded at 720p.

Not i do have a request that i think everyone can get behind:

Please put the Bitrate and Estimated File Size for all downloaders.

Right now, they all have the bitrate but only Amazon has the file size but i want both everywhere.

The reason for both is that you can make a more informed decision with both. A bitrate of 3500 kbps can result in a 700 MB file or it can result in a 2 GB file.

It really is all about the source material. Is there a lot of rapid movement, is the movie very long, etc...

For Amazon, please add the ACTUAL bitrate along with the file size instead of the Generic ones you had before (15000, 8000, 3000 kbps). The competitor shows the actual bitrate.

So basically, for all downloaders, the dropdown should be like

I just used . This is a customized sheet view when loading a folder instead of a single file.

Make sure you enable For folders too so you can just right-click on the folder to load all the video instead of opening with one file and then using the Select a folder to examine button.

Then you need to customize the sheet view. You can do that by selecting sheet view as your output format and clicking More... or select Customize | Sheet, and creating a new sheet view.
