StreamFab and VPN

I tried using nordvpn with netflix and it keeps telling me I'm logged in with a phone number and to login with email instead so StreamFab works correctly. I double checked everything and it's email and password. I also noticed I can't login into netflix while using a vpn with StreamFab. I have to login into netflix first then start the vpn but it still gives me an issue when trying to download. I even tried the copy and paste method and thought maybe that would help with the download but nope. Is there a way around any of this?

It'd be nice if they built something into it, so you could use a chrome plugin like with the browser.

I've never been able to get it to work for Netflix Korea, I gave up.

That's either a sad commentary on the developers or the government oppression they live under. There is not a day that goes by that there isn't at least one article in the news about Netflix and all the other major international streamers trying to stop geolocation faking and password sharing. It happens because Netflix wants it to happen, the stopping of it, that is. When you subscribe you agree to use only the services within the region you are in. No one should be surprised if they find it difficult at times to use the services in a different region. Netflix and others are actively combatting such practices, so get used to it. It will probably only get worse over time as they come up with more sophisticated methods of tracking violators.

The "other guys" program works fine with NORD to connect to South Korea...I could not with SF.

I can get NordVPN to work perfectly fine with Netflix just using google chrome without StreamFab. It's just waiting for the StreamFab developers to figure out a solution to use a VPN with StreamFab. I don't see why this should be a hard thing to figure out for them. I guess we just wait it out.

You're going to wait forever because StreamFab has absolutely nothing, zero, zilch to do with your use of VPN. StreamFab has nothing to do with routing your connection after a URL for a streamer is chosen with the program. If you set up a VPN within your OS or router, the VPN will direct all traffic through its network rather than your Internet provider's network. Again, StreamFab has nothing to do with that nor should it.

I rarely have issues with streamfab or the competitor using proton vpn. The only locations that seem to bug out are most california servers I've used. Most of the others that I've tried haven't given many issues. Most of the time I use florida and texas servers as they tend to work best in my experience.

I have a lot of VPN services cause i always get the promo offers and referrals (i refer myself to myself, using different email addresses).

I have successfully used NordVPN, ProtonVPN, SurfShark and Unlocator with StreamFab.

My goto is NordVPN. Works well with Amazon US, HBO/Max US/AR/BR/FI, Hulu US, Disney+ US, Peacock US, Channel 4 UK, DRM MPD in UK, US and AU.

Never been able to get it to work with Netflix.

Why is VPN working for everything except Netflix? Clearly the Netflix implementation is "wrong" compared to the others. Like Cats4U said, it shouldn't have anything to do with StreamFab but the fact is, VPN works in Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Brave, Opera & Safari when accessing Netflix. But StreamFab is throwing the logged-in with a phone number error. Works with the competitor so i would have to disagree on the "StreamFab has nothing to do with it".

I think that if StreamFab has anything to do with Netflix and VPN at all it is that SF is misinterpreting Netflix's error message about using a VPN.

It's definitely weird cause i can connect to VPN, go to Netflix, play something, all is good.

Don't disconnect from VPN, go to StreamFab, error

Again, same connection, same session, Competitor, download fine

strangely the netflix vpn works fine on Firefox, Chrome, Microsoft Edge on my PC, but it doesn't work with netflix streamfab:p

In my testing with StreamFab v6.1.5.3, the Netflix module no longer complains about being signed-in with a phone number when using a VPN.

I have tried to download from Netflix South Korea and i was successful using NordVPN.
