Amazon Downing videos as V_QUICKTIME

I am having issues downloading a few videos from Amazon. I tried the Jetsons S02 and Teen Titans Go S06E01. They both downloaded as V_QUICKTIME in a mkv file. I then try to play it and it does not play.

Download as a MP4. If you must make it MKV then you are less likely to get a V_Quicktime if you use FFmpeg. In any event the file itself might be bad no matter what. It is a streamer problem. Hulu had this problem a week or so ago. Checking the history of complaints here about V_Quicktime, it happens every so often with different streamers. MKVtoolnix appears to no longer be at Gitlab and the forum there has been removed. The message I wrote about in the previous message does not appear to have been transferred to the new MKVtoolnix forum at https://help.mkvtoolnix.download/. Therefore, for all intents and purposes, that message is lost. Perhaps the Internet Archive might still have it, but I don’t feel like taking the time to track it down.

Thank you for tracking that down. My main point was that Bunkus had made up his mind that although his decision to use V_QUICKTIME was causing confusion, he was sticking with it. The codeberg.org message was the one I was referring to when it was back at Gitlab.
As for the help.mkvtoolnix.download message, which I was aware of by doing a search on V_QUICKTIME in that forum, it shows the importance of using the latest versions of the “programs under the hood” (as someone referred to it as). For reasons unknown, the developer has chosen to not do timely updates to these programs. The worst offended being using proprietary YoutubeToMP3Process.exe instead of the latest stable or nightly yt-dlp. It’s annoying to see SF problems already fixed in the latest versions of yt-dlp, but not when using YoutubeToMP3Process. Note: when I mention YoutubeToMP3Process, I also mean to include YoutubeToMP3Service, although I’m not totally sure of the relationship between the two other than the implied use of YoutubeToMP3Service as a service.
