Not sure if the UHD Converter is the right place to post this. I'm describing the situation below that I did for 2 different movies: Logan, and Sonic 2.I have the UHD to Blu Ray converter. My optical drives work just fine (firmware is correct). When I convert a UHD to Blu Ray, the process is "successful." I don't do anything other than use the default settings for producing an ISO that is under 50Gb.When I burn the ISO to a disc (50Gb), using Active ISO Burner software, the burn process goes smoothly.Placing the disc into either a 4k player or a Blu Ray player shows the menu for the completed disc.When I hit "play" the video is as expected, but there is no audio. If I check the disc settings, there are 3 audio choices (sometimes, there are 4 choices). If I choose the second audio (one down from the first one), then there is audio, but it's the audio where a narrator is describing the movie as it moves along.The third option for audio also works, but it's the director of the movie narrating it.The first one has no audio.I've submitted this information to tech support, but it's been months since they have responded. They are kind and say that they are working on it, but then I hear nothing from them.As I said, the video looks absolutely superb, but I can't get the audio to work.Are there settings that I should be changing? Mona, as far as the preview, I did not. I don't know where that is located for the audio. When I do a preview, it just tells me that I can't preview the movie, "but rest assured, the movie will play perfectly" or something to that effect. My email for submitting the information is xxx. Thanks.

Thanks.CaptainKtry going into common settings - av codec - switch everything to software (disable all GPU codecs for decoding and encoding) - restart dvdfaband convert your UHD to blu-ray again and see if you get audio.

I saw two that showed the full length movie time (801 and 40). When I clicked on play, it played the movie with the audio, in both examples.When I tried disabling the codecs, the selected "choose other titles" was set to 801. I'm trying again, with just the other alternative (40). Don't know what this means, and I'm definitely not understanding if this makes a difference or not. I'll post later, since this whole process takes several hours. Thanks for the suggestion. If you have additional suggestions, I'm all ears.

Just to clarify:when you play your original 4KUHD disc, everything works correctly (the main audio track plays fine)?when you are ripping/processing it:you are in DVDFab - running "UHD to Blu-Ray". You've loaded up your source disc and the program has scanned it and is displaying the dialog box for "UHD to Blu-Ray". At the bottom of the dialog box, there should be drop down boxes. The right most one is for you to select which subtitles you want.2nd to the right is the audio stream selection. When you click on the audio stream selection box, what do you see in the drop-down? Is the audio selection you need checked? And what audio codec is it?

Found something interesting. I mentioned above that I had tried Logan. I tried playing this in my 4k player. The video plays fine, as expected. But, when I went into the options settings (where I can turn on things like closed captions), I scrolled through the audio choices. Here's what I found:1 ENG is silent2 ENG plays the audio!3 ENG is the narration of the movie4 ENG is the director narrating the movieThere were 4 choices for audio. 2 ENG shows DTS HD MA. All the others just show Dolby Audio, Main channel.When I tried the disc in my Blu-Ray player, once again, I could see 4 options for audio. But, 1 and 2 ENG were both silent. The other 2 followed the pattern (narration, director talking).But, I was able to get the audio in 2 ENG just fine. The 4K player is a simple LG that I bought several years ago. Don't know if it has anything to do with it.Also, there were 4 options for choosing audio with Logan. Only 3 with Sonic.Is any of this relevant?All I know is that Logan will play both video and audio when I choose 2 ENG, and that's a move in the right direction. I did not change the codec to software when I did the conversion on Logan.As usual, all suggestions are very much welcome. Thanks.

I right clicked on the ISO file, opened it with a VLC player, and the audio is there. Interesting. What's my next move?

If you have now verified the audio is there - it is time to analyze the audio playback capabilities of the devies/systems you are using to play it back.What is the audio codec of the audio track you want?Are you trying to play it back via a receiver? Directly to your tv? What we are looking for is whether the audio codec in track #1 can be handled by the devices you are connecting to.

It's an LG UP870. I checked the settings for the audio. It had Auto, PCM and DTS-Re-Encode. The unit was set for Auto. So, I moved it to PCM, then played the Sonic 2 disc. It worked!

Then, I moved it to DTS-Re-Encode, played the disc, and it also worked!

For some reason, having it set to Auto didn't allow the audio to come through.

I tried it with the Logan disc. Both 1 ENG and 1 ENG audio channels worked, as well.

You have solved the mystery! Thanks for being persistent with this. Plus, between you and Rich86, I learned a bunch of stuff.

Looking at the specs for your player & TV, you should be able to handle lossless audio (DTS HDMaster and Dolby TrueHD).
Are you set up to provide audio to your TV via the HDMI cable or via an optical digital cable? You cannot stream Dolby TrueHD or DTS Master audio via optical as it cannot handle it.
If you want to experiment with this, you have to make sure both the player and tv are looking for audio via the hdmi cable connection.
Then it looks like you can set the player to "auto" audio output and it should send the Dolby TrueHD audio signal to the TV via the HDMI cable.
Please be aware that I am saying this based on looking at the operating manuals for your devices on-line with no way to test it myself, so no guarantees.

Rich, yes, the units are connected with HDMI cable. I don't use the optical connection.

Also, because of this new discovery, I looked into the settings of the audio on the Blu-Ray player, and changed those. Now, it also plays the disc with audio. Thanks again for the help.
