Can anyone with a long memory remember the longest time they took for a DRM crack apart from this time ? So for instance, has it taken many months before at some point ?

Last year it was 1 month.. Maybe the new one is already cracked and sf hasn't bought it yet.

Going by very imperfect memory, I think it has taken between 2 weeks and 2 months. Tomorrow will be the 3-month "anniversary". This is definitely the longest instance.

This is definitely the longest. Back in May/June 2022, when the "long one" impacted HBOMax and pushed me to by the competitor, it was over 6 weeks where Fab hadn't fixed, so I bought the competitor. It was then a bit longer until FAB finally fixed theirs. I didn't clock it because I had the competitor to use by that point. That was the longest I recall DRM being an impact. @JeffDavis is that the one you are referring to?

It's not reassuring, but it shows that others are also having problems with netflix at the moment: Cleverget can no longer download anything from netflix!

Probably. I don't have a good sense of when each DRM issue occurred. I started with StreamFab, then DVDFab Downloader, when it was released in March 2021. I remember having a subscription to HBOMax that I dropped when StreamFab stopped working with it. I'm as frustrated as everyone by this current outage, but I also take the long view. Once StreamFab fixes it (admittedly my confidence that they will fix it has diminished), we will all resume downloading as before and forget about the current troubles until we get hit by another DRM change.

So much for the latest "update".Tried to download 2 items from Amazon today - one predates the DRM change by a long way. As reported the download speed was quick but the item has been in the "processing" mode for about 15 minutes so far , much much longer than anything I've ever downloaded from Streamfab on any module.The 007 documentary For Our Eyes Only completely failed although the competing program also came with the "digital rights" notice and failed also

If you are referring to AnyStream (and I will admit that you do not name 'the other program' so apologies if you are referring to something else) but... Anystream isn't a screen recorder. It's a direct downloader, straight from the service provider CDN. Google it!

MovPilot seems to be a screen recorder, similar to StreamFab. However, I recommend MovPilot more because it eliminates the need for an additional encode.

No idea how you're coming up with AnyStream in your little head. I was only talking about screen recorders here, not downloaders. As I said, StreamFab is no longer a downloader.

Streamfab is no longer a downloader. And the program seems to be a screen recorder just like streamfab and others like it. Whereby I can recommend the other program more because it is ONLY a screenrecord without encode. Streamfab has become shit and you should rather use reasonable screen recorders if you really want something. Otherwise switch to torrenting or, like me, make something yourself. You can buy wv keys

I don't get it, how can a screenrecord work without encode? A screen record is based on individual decryped and decoded video frames. In order to save these you have to encode them again unless you want to save them as raw and uncompressed video (about 1gp per minute at 1080p and 30fps)

... or are you refering to direct stream recording?

Sorry, I wasn't being flippant when I asked, I was merely surprised when you said 7 minutes -which seemed by my own experience of AnyStream as to be rather long to download. I also completely concur with your comments re: SF -"I have already accepted the fact that nothing is going to be fixed". Yep, especially with respects to the Amazon DRM -would've been done by now if they had any clue how to fix it! And they clearly do not! :rolleyes:

The competitor is certainly enjoying StreamFab's predicament. They stopped selling lifetime licenses earlier this year and now sell 2-year licenses. Yesterday a forum admin on their site posted "If anyone is interested in a 1 or 2-year license, they best do it now, soon the prices will rise due to inflation then you will have to pay more for the one and 2-year subscription." Someone replied that he was looking at buying StreamFab, and another member replied "I would take a look at their forum before you make a purchase. They are not very happy over there at the moment!!!!".

I've been a DVDFab user for many years, and still use it to rip both regular and 4K Blu-rays. When they announced StreamFab (then DVDFab Downloader) I jumped at their offer. And now I'm lurking on the competitor's forum. I truly hope StreamFab can recover, but the outlook is getting grimmer.

Absolutely.I am kind of spoilt as currently my download speed is around 1137 Mbps. But even with this speed I notice that AnyStream seems capped at reaching a max of around 38 Mbps. I'm going to keep at eye on it and see what, if any, higher download speed AS reaches.

Just out of curiosity after reading your post, I tried downloading the documentary 'For Our Eyes Only' myself using AnyStream and it successfully completed without any issues or "digital rights" notice. So for me, the competition continues to do exactly as it states it can do! WITHOUT RE-ENCODING BULLSHIT! Not sure why you experienced the failure with AnyStream when you tried? Might be worth giving it another go ...

I don't know why it failed either. They did do an update a few days ago and things worked after that although the Digital Rights notice does still stay on the screen while the download continues. I downloaded the Tubular Bells 50th Anniversary today. It worked with AS as it should but the DRM notice was present throughout. On Streamfab it also worked but the processing (presumably the re-encoding) takes forever

AnyStream downloaded that film perfectly, with no re-encoding and it was done in 7 minutes and played perfectly. I think phelings may be mistaken, maybe he is new to the AnyStream, or his computer is broken. AnyStream doesn't give DRM notices unless you use the wrong download button.

After the update the other day it worked fine. The DRM notice appears immediately but the Download buttons are there as they should be and the download worked fine even with the DRM notice onscreen

So let me get this straight you are in the fab forum complaining about AnyStream not being able to do it the first time, but it was successful the second time you tried. How was Fab in this same movie, was it successful at all? Sounds like you are mixed up to me.

i've been using anystream mostly nothing is working for me except tubi, pluto and roku none others seen to work like disney+ and peacock
