As for Netflix, they are becoming junk. I am even considering talking to my cable company and having them drop it.

As for Amazon, I can't say. I noticed for certain providers you have to try different profiles from main to high back to main and others from H265 to H264, and others from H254 to H265 to see what rates I get.

Like the yellow banner says, 540p is just for Sony movies and cannot be solved. Everything else should be ok, though.

For me, Amazon bitrates are usually fine (I'm in Poland).

Also, just in case: remember to always test both High and Main profile for H264 Netflix - the bitrates can vary significantly. Usually, for 1080p, the Main profile has consistently around 5000kpbs, while the High profile can have anything between 1000-9000 kbps and seems kind of random, even between the episodes of the same season.

Just tested it and - like I said above - this is exactly the difference between the Main profile (~5000kbps) and High profile (~2000kbps).

StreamFab 6.1.8.8 can download both variants.

I did the same test with the same movie and got the same video bitrate results. However, with High I get 6ch EAC3 Dolby Atmos but with Main I get 6ch EAC3 without Atmos, even though it is selected.

So I went to 6188 and i still dont see the higher version of the file for axel F and i know it exists i do have two profiles one that is 2322k and one for 1600k any thoughts? I just did a full uninstall and deleted the streamfab folder in the documents folder re-installed with the offline installer.

This is x264 High Profile:

Open the "Hamburger Menu" (3 lines top right) select Settings
- click left on VIP Services
- right under "Netflix Settings" you must
- change "H264 Profile" from "High" to "Main"
- click ok and try again

I LMAO every time someone gets so worked up about bitrates, especially when comparing between profiles. It's not even apples and oranges, it's apples and cucumbers. There are so many other important factors besides bitrate. A little reading would go a long way.

The other thing that I wonder about, what is your ultimate goal in downloading a movie? Do you want to watch the movie, or are you more interested in making sure that every pixel is aligned just properly in relation to all the other pixel on the screen? The same is true for sound. You've got people that have their panties all in a bunch because they can't download a certain movie with Atmos sound, never mind that they only have the stereo soundbar that came with their TV and any hope of getting even a simple 5.1 setup any time soon is nothing more than a pipe dream.

There are noticeable differences between a constant bitrate of 1500 and 8000. I always prefer the highest available.

This. When the birates are similar then the High profile should beat the Main profile. In case of Netflix though, the bitrates are often so different that the High profile variant ends up being of noticeably lower quality. Yes, even to a newbie.

@Wilson Wang can you guys add the profile button when you choose the movie bitrates? it would be easier instead of going to options and "test" to see what gives you the best quality..
