Why don't I ever learn?
Yet again I've ripped myself paying for another module only to find it doesn't work. Paid for You Tube Movies to get just one movie because you can't buy a Bluray disc yet now paid for it and SF will only download it at 480. I have a dvd that can do that.
How can SF keep selling these products that don't work as they should
phelings
Yeah, I can't say. I almost always got just 480p using browsers, with movies & tv section. I was under the impression that if you rent the movie and are logged into YouTube via SF, then you would get at least up to 1080p.
I never rented any, so I can't say. The movies with ads I was under the impression they not only would come ad-free and again at least 1080p buying
YouTube Premium but is not only outrageous at $14 a month but in the description of such I see no mention of getting the videos above 480p in a browser or otherwise.
But does offer a download option, they 'claim'. (Quoted from the Premium description, "Download videos to watch later when you’re offline or on the go").
It might end up yet another thing that is limited to browsers, as I know YouTube with ads I get higher resolution if using the YouTube app on Android, up to at least 1080p.Hopefully, someone else who knows more can give a better insight into whether higher resolutions for download are available in any way, as also with YouTube Premium they 'claim' you get a download option for the videos.
I have a program that shows the higher resolutions on the ones with ads, but the crazy thing is if I try to go above 480p the movies just download scrambled or not at all with an undetermined error. I don't bother much with any of these types of programs with tech support anymore, as they all have no clue what's going on. I would love to know why the other program shows the higher resolution if not able to decode or adjust to the DRM for the higher resolution download. One other I have does YouTube, but I did get a reply that it won't do DRM at all, on YouTube.
I will add that the NONE DRM videos that have 720p/1080p or above do download at the higher resolutions.
I might Subscribe to this topic to see if there are any real solutions, I am hoping something may be posted by other(s) to help understand this.
