Disney 1080p videos now use V_QUICKTIME codec

It seems that the new version 6.2.1.4 is actually able to download videos from Disney+ with 1080p what is great news!
But the codec used seems to be a QUICKTIME codec (Apple), named "V_QUICKTIME".
(Update: V_QUICKTIME is the Matroska-way to indicate Apple Quicktime, where V_ is just a prefix for "video")

Installing Quicktime for Windows does not enable any video player or video converter to work with the download videos.
What can I do to convert them to AVC or HVEC format?

Any advice is very welcome :-)

ive this problem too but ive a workround:
settings -> preferred settings -> mkv (ffmpeg) this problem is not only on disney

and i dont like ffpmeg... its good for mp4 files but not for mkv files
mkvtoolnix (mkvmerge) is way better but idk what streamfab is doing with this bug

I have just tested it: The codec looks better, but the content seems to be (still) encrypted.
It cannot be played, just garbled colors - if at all.
Tested with Tracker S01E01 and S0102 (from Switzerland), and I have tried MP4 and MKV(ffmpeg)-settings.

In the USA, Tracker is on Disney+ as "Hulu content". It does download as AVC/H264. It appears that only AVC/H264 is available, as my default is set for H265, yet H264 is auto selected, and changing to H265 still downloads as H264.

Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantumania, Deadpool & Wolverine, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 download as H265/HEVC at 1080p.

Did you update StreamFab using the offline installer, or the "update now" button in the app? If the update button, exit StreamFab, clear your temp and log folders and use the offline installer, and try again. If it still gives you the V_QUICKTIME and garbled video on playback, post your logs.

I always uninstall StreamFab completely using a professional Uninstaller, and I delete the DVDFab-folder, too.
Then I use the offline installer - going this way I have never had any trouble so far.

I switched back to MKX(MKVtoolnix), so the downloaded file is QUICKTIME again.
I did other tests with ffmpeg (try to convert to a "better" format), and it gave me the hint that the file uses the codec "encv", i.e. it is encrypted.
I think for some reason the (still) encrypted content is stored. But this is just a guess...

ive the best plan (premium: 4k, no ads, atmos etc.)
so the plan is not the problem there

And just to put it out there:

These are different titles. Sometimes episodes 1, 2, 3 work, but then 4, 5, etc. don’t.
It’s completely weird and totally random.
Downloading multiple times doesn’t help either; the error still occurs.

To also clear up the myth about the offline/online installer:
I have never ever ever had any issues with the online installer.
I’ve tried using the offline installer several times when problems occurred.
But the problems were always the same.

Why the online installer causes issues for some people, I can’t say (it could possibly be related to the internet itself—unstable connections, Wi-Fi, etc.).
However, the online installer itself is not the problem.

The only real advantage of a clean install is that unused files are removed and the system gets a general cleanup.

Also Star Wars Skeleton Crew, S01 E01, E03, E04, E05, E06 also Quicktime, where E02 is HEVC/H265.

Experiencing the same problem. It's hit and miss. Attempted downloading Skeleton Crew: Season 1 episodes. First video still encrypted, second fine, next couple encrypted. I aborted after that and completely uninstalled and reinstalled. Still no go! Obviously, some issues with this release for Disney+ 1080p implementation that need to be addressed.

Same problem here, with The Incredible Hulk (2008), the video is encrypted in 1080p, you only see a screen with colors.

Same problem here, tried to download Indiana Jhones and the Dial of Destiny, using my normal settings (1080p H264 mkv using ffmpeg, remux all the subs), and it ended up with a file that doesn't show an image, just some flashes in the beginning...

I have the same problem: 2 out of 10 movies are playable. All others have the codec V_QUICKTIME.

I installed 6.2.1.4 today with the offline download install process. I did some testing with Disney+ for 1080P downloads, since that is a feature now with 6.2.1.4. My results are mixed. Some are now 1080P vs. 720P in the pasty. Others are 1080P but the video is all green. My testing so far is about 50/50 between a good quality 1080P video and a 1080P video of solid green.
