Apple via SF has been less than 720p forever, with some brief exceptions. Fortunately, I dropped my direct apple subscription and purchased through Amazon and that solved the problem. Downloading apple shows through Amazon yields 1080p. Only downsides I see are that I don't see a way to get a yearly (vs monthly) subscription through Amazon, and it kind of makes the Apple module on SF useless.

Not everyone has the required US payment method (or want amazon.com) and the AppleTV+ channel is currently only available in the US.

Actually, Canada, UK and Australia got the Prime Channel mid-december.

That would most likely be the case. I have subscribed to the Canada one and it's English and French audio so UK and Australia is probably just English.
