AAC 2.0 128kbps missing from many series

Under SF 6.2.2.7 Netflix - and several earlier versions starting around 6.2.2.0, AAC 2.0 128kbps variants of audio are 'shadowed' by AAC 5.1 192kbps.

Whenever 192kbps track exists for a particular language, 128kbps isn't listed and therefore CANNOT be downloaded at all.

Earlier versions listed both variants for the user to choose from.

@Wilson.Wang please fix.

Updated today from 6.2.2.0 to 6.2.2.9 and also encountered that problem. Would be nice if we could download AAC 2.0 128kbps again in the near future.

Almost everyone always wants higher and better, so I guess that's what SF gives.

If 128kbps is available, are you sure you have confirmed that? Then I don't know why SF won't show both, other than that's how the developer has it set.

OK. I just tried a random show and can only confirm the show has EAC 5.1 640kbps and AAC 128kbps, and SF can show both, concerning English. In Spanish, you get only AAC 128kbps because that's the only track available. None of this, though, really corresponds with your saying AAC 128kbps and 192kbps.
So it may depend on the show and maybe the episode or season?

Since i only download AAC 2.0 128kbp and never something else, i checked some of my recently downloaded series.

Weak Hero, Kian’s Bizarre B&B, Karma & Revalations have only AAC 5.1 192kbps anymore after my update today. That was just a few examples, could is easily find more.

Ok, sorry, after further checking, I found a show that SF shows is only AAC 192 and not the AAC 128 and see that 128 is also available but not shown. So, YES, that must be how the developer set it up. Good luck trying to explain that to support, but it is your only option. Maybe they will finally pass it to the developer, but even then, it could be forever before u see a change.

For a long time I thought it was due to the country
that I get AAC 128 in Germany and AAC 192 abroad ..
.. in my AV1 HDR10 tests, however, I was able to determine
that it is not the country but the NF plan that is decisive.

With NF ad-supported Standard I get always AAC 128k ..
.. and with Premium Plan in same country AAC 192k

Which of course doesn't change the fact that it would be nicer if you had the choice (with Premium)

My ad-supported Standard (Germany) offer AAC 128

and off course all qualities are offered:

So the ad-supported NF Account still has AAC 2.0 128kbps. As mentioned, my standard subscription also always had that option, but sometime after the 6.2.2.0 Version it disappeared. I hope then it should not be to difficult to bring it back to the standard subscription (and hopefully also premium). I also had premium at one point, but i think that was over a year ago and if i remember correctly i always could select AAC 2.0. Because my old downloaded titles are also only AAC 2.0.

I´m also from Germany, strange that you cant find Karma or Revelations.

After I found a serie that offer (also with ad-supported plan) AAC only with 5.1 192 ..
.. I can confirm that the change was with new NF selection with SF 6221

That was the changelog for Netflix in the 6.2.2.1 Version:

New: Added support for the analysis prompt window in Netflix to support selecting audio and video codec.
Fix: A problem that the audio list of some videos in Netflix is not fully displayed.
Fix: A problem that the video format is still MP4 even if AV1 MKV format is selected in Netflix.

That should be the reason for the missing AAC 2.0 128kbps. Something gone wrong there.

Well, good luck with that - I've already opened a support ticket for this issue. Such a waste of time - they said that I should update and clear the cache, etc.

It looks like nobody even read what I was reporting.

Ticket has already been closed and unresolved (aka ignored), so...

Still an issue in SF 6.2.3.4. So now, after more than two weeks, I'd assume you've been completely ignored - like everyone else here.

Seems like calling @Wilson.Wang is the only chance of succeeding in anything there. Except that even that didn't work in this thread...

How to get AAC 2.0 128 when only AAC 5.1 192 is offered in SF ?

Analyze the serie/movie and select you're codec/resolution/subs
and offered Audio AAC 5.1 192, now "Add to Queue" and close SF

Go to %AppData%\DVDFab\StreamFab\taskdata
and open the file Netflix in Notepad and find "audioMap":["ey

You will see a token that starts with:
eyJiaXRyYXRlIjoxOTIwMDAsImNoYW5uZWwiOjY
change this part to:
eyJiaXRyYXRlIjoxMjgwMDAsImNoYW5uZWwiOjI
(of course you can use search/replace)

save the file, open SF and start the queue => that's it
