Error code 702

Since 2 versions I am getting error code 702 when downloading from netflix. I thought it might get fixed but this is not the case. I found a thread and people said I have to delete the temp folder. But it is still the same. Then I found a thread and people said I should not use the integrated update feature. I uninstalled streamfab, downloaded the latest version and reinstalled it. Still the same. How can I fix this error code?

Don't try to download an unoffered video/audio.
Error 702 happen when a selection is not offered
or no key was determined for decryption.

For exact info I need your StreamFab.log

Close SF, rename the StreamFab.log
start SF, try once and after fails close SF
and attach your StreamFab.log to your post

I have no problems with Netflix.

Might help to name some content. Might help to know what Windows version and is it fully up to date. I have no issues with fully up to date Win11 Pro
I was also going to say a log will be needed, but I see Germania has noted that.
Or try a clean installation.

I was getting "Error 702" after updating to 6.2.2.7 so I uninstalled & did a clean reinstall.

It is nearly all of the content. For example I just added this new series PULSE. it works for episode 1+2. And rest is 702...
Same for the residence. Half of it has 702. all of us are dead all episodes. same for adolescence or blue eye samurai. its about 95%.

I've dl Pulse with AV1 Thursday successfully (with AAC)
but ep6 have only 96k in german instead selected 128k ..

I tried your settings: MKV (FFmpeg), Remux Into File, NF AV1 + Atmos
and selected 1080p (max), Atmos de+en and subs de (de,forced,CC,STRIPPED_SDH) + en (forced+CC)

All fine for me - can you start the epi3 before analyzing?

I deleted episode 3 from my list, started episode 3 before analyzing. the result is the same. but like i said. it is not this episode only. for example residence episodes 6,7,8 have the same problem. adolescence episode 1,2,3,4 as well. and many more.

so the 702 is result for never get a video (audio + subs are fine)

Please try a different ip and/or dns server
(in case of doubt try a vpn server near your location)
and just for testing, try if H264 works for you

btw: Clean installation already tried ?

Close SF and rename your cache - like here
after this new login is required

If you don't find your cache ..
.. look in SF Settings where you're Temp Directory is - it's in there

Yeah noticed that. I deleted the whole cache folder in AppData\Roaming\StreamFab. I also deleted my defined temp folder. Then I was able to download again. But in the end I got 702 error again.

Just tried to use VPN for a download. Again 702 error.

I got this problem after updating to 6.2.2.6

Have you tried with H264 ?

Never seen this problem "Get pssh error" self - so I don't know where to search ..

Any other (known) updates in your system? (win11 24H2 ?)

Can you try to change temp from E: to C: ?

And try to disable "GPU: name, Microsoft Remote Display Adapter"

Well. I was using 6.2.2.5. After downloading a couple of shows I installed the update and received this error. In these 5 minutes I haven't received any windows updates. But yes. I keep my windows up to date.
I have to use my remote display adapter. I am using remote access.

BUT it works when I download in H.264. Just tried Bumblebee that had error 702 before. Switched back from H.264 to AV1 and got error 702 again.

Then the reason for your problem is found.
The Remote Display Adapter can't encode AV1,
and I don't know why it's different with older SF releases.

so try this in Group Policy Editor (gpedit.msc)

Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components
> Remote Desktop Services > Remote Desktop Session Host > Remote Session Environment

Use hardware graphics adapter for all Remote Desktop Services sessions

Looks like "Use WDDM graphics display driver for Remote Desktop Connections" need also to disabled => see 18 here

gonna try when i reboot next time. but it is not satisfying. because some episodes are still getting encoded in AV1 this way. i would understand when it happens to all files but obviously Remote Display Adapter can encode AV1. it worked before the update and it does after update but only in about 5% now. some sort of fix would be nice.

Any other cause would also not explain why it is different for you

The simplest explanation would be different encoder versions/settings by NF ..
.. I can't say any more about this due to the lack of a remote display adapter

For me - with hardware graphics adapter - all AV1 works fine (>200 NF series)

Ok, an other user inform me that he get error 702 for some seasons with AV1

After my HDR10 AV1 tests I rechecked Pulse.s01e03 .. find the different:

Error 702 occurs (for reasons unknown to me) with the new AV1 HDR10 offer in 2nd pic
(s01e01+02 is currently not offered as HDR10) - and it works for me:

So I think you can switch to NF Standard plan (1st pic) and get smaller AV1 bit rates
without HDR10 (without "Get pssh error" because not HDR10 supported)

My mistake: It was s01e10 where I get only german 96k on release day ..
.. but now it's fixed - so I get 128k (with Standard - with Premium 192k)

well. thanks to the last tipp I can format my pc now. It keeps disconnecting my RDP every 5 seconds. Even after switching back. flawless working for 3 years and now i got this. got enough tips for now. thanks anyway.
