Subtitle Naming Convention

I download subtitles and have them extracted to a "SRT" file. The player I use is EMBY. EMBY will only recognize the SRT file if the naming convention meets their requirements. In most of the VIP Services the SRT naming convention is what EMBY requires. Peacock and Paramount do not have the same naming convention as HULU, Disney+, Apple TV+, Amazon and MAX. Here is an example:

Poker Face downloaded from Peacock saves the SRT file as follows:

Poker Face_S02E08_The Sleazy Georgian_eng.srt

EMBY does not recognize this as a valid SRT file because of the "_eng". It will only recognize it if the file format is ".eng" Shown as follows:

Poker Face_S02E08_The Sleazy Georgian.eng.srt

I have created a batch file to rename the files manually but this requires manual intervention.

Is the naming convention controlled by the VIP service or can I change some setting in StreamFab to address my issue?

I'm impressed by your question. It is not often that someone comes here and so thoroughly explains each aspect of their problem. Good job! Unfortunately. I don't think I have a direct answer to your problem. Being from the US I very rarely use subtitles at all. If you are downloading from Peacock, I would think you would be in the US, as well. I'm trying to figure out why you would need an Eng subtitle if the show is in English and you live in the US. Do you have a hearing problem? Emby does have a separate SRT code for that.
But the big question is - Why don't you simply set your subtitle setting to "Remux into file"? Then you don't have to deal with naming conventions for a separate SRT file.

Very respectfully, I'm sure you can entertain the notion that there are valid reason(s) why many of us US natives desire/need to use subtitles.

Two quick examples are:
1. My spouse is hard of hearing and I am not. If subtitles are downloaded, in Plex, I can easily switch them off (my preference), when I'm watching, and then back on when I'm watching with my spouse. In this scenario, if subtitles were remuxed into the video file, then, I'd have to have two version of the video file, doubling the space needed to store one video.

2. There are a lot of folks in the US that either speak a foreign language natively or have acquired a foreign language via study and at great expense personally and financially (I'm the latter case: MBA-Linguistics-German). In this case it is great to have both the English and German subtitles (and audio). In Plex I can switch on/off whichever audio and subtitle combos I want to enjoy the video in various ways. Also, I can imagine this would also be a great learning tool for those studying English or a foreign language.

All of this is really just to say, that I would love to see a set up for a format (naming template) for the subtitle files in StreamFab, just as we have for the video files.

Plex also requires certain naming conventions for its subtitles to work correctly and as it stands now and as previously stated, there is no consistency among the various VIP providers' naming conventions. classic57b has written batch files to fix them and I've written my own .Net code that I run all the subtitles through to mitigate this issue. I would love it if I did not have to do this anymore.

I'm with you. There should be some standardization for those that use subtitles. Whether it should be the ultra-strict form that Plex uses or some other form, it needs either standardization of one media server or the ability to choose between the many. From what I've read, more people are turned off by Plex's strictness than they gain by it.
My feeling in the US is that most people are English-speaking. In fact, the head psychopath, old orange face, has written an executive order declaring English the official language of the US. This along with the fact that the vast movie and TV industry in the US, GB, Australia, NZ, and Canada all produce English language productions. To some extent, you could also add in India. In most cases, the people of the US don't need to look elsewhere to seek entertainment. There are more English language programming broadcasting in any hour of the day than could ever be watched in a week.
You bring up two exceptions, hearing impaired (which I also brought up) and foreign speaking individuals (either by family heritage or through education). I lost the hearing in my right ear when I was 8 years old during surgery on a tumor on my mastoid bone. My wife grew up in a very close family atmosphere where both Polish and Ukrainian were spoken. She went on to receive two Master degrees in Russian and Slavic language. Neither one of us can stand to watch a show with subtitles. It is near impossible to watch the acting and read the subtitles at the same time. The acting can tell you more about the story than any printed word can. I'd rather not watch anything if otherwise I'm forced to read subtitles.

UniFab has a new Ai subtitle generator that uses the naming convention "[show filename].en_US.srt" and that seems to quite recognizable in several players I've tried..
