You could try hooking your Android device to your computer via USB, and you may also need USB drivers for the device.
I can only speak for my latest Android Tablet I needed Samsung USB drivers, but then found out after that any files saved on it were encoded/encrypted by the version of Android it had.
It's a Samsung Tablet.
So can't say what the end result will be for anyone else, but that's what I know as concerning the Samsung Tablet and the Android version it's running.
