Trial version NOT working with KindleForPC version 2.7.70978

I tried several books, included library, Kindle Unlimited and Purchased E-books; none would download, despite confirmation of authorization.

I have same version of KindleForPC, which is the latest, and downloaded latest trial version of BookFab too. I went into Kindle and selected download on one of my books. Then I went to the eBook Converter tab, and when I went to the kindle for amazon eBook platform, it said that it was temporarily unavailable use above options. Above option was to locally select file and convert. Problem is, you can't locally select a file to convert since they removed the download to USB option this spring.

My question to the forum is: "Would Jameshot and myself doing this wrong?" or "Is this all on hold until the developers figure out the work around?"

I'm trying the trail version and it's not working with KindleForPC 2.4.0 either. I was able to select file and it looked like it was going to work, but it's been at 99% for almost an hour. Checked all of the download and cache files and NOTHING.

It was just done. However, you feedback option does not state that it provides log files. If it does, then please make it clear in the software.
