The Prime app for Windows also only runs at 1080p.I don't know what Netflix offers in the browser. Regardless, even if Netflix supports 4K, you need the corresponding keys.So I wouldn't expect more 4K in the near future.

I am happy that we just have 1080p Disney plus now am surprised to as Disney plus is only 720p in the browser

Currently StreamFab can download 4K from HBOMax and Hulu. But these services have only select content available in 4K, which means there isn't much for StreamFab to download at 4K from them.I know that there are groups/scenes that have 4k torrents, etc. My limited understanding is they will not/have not shared how they do it, and they are using a process that utilizes hardware and software to circumvent the higher level DRM on 4K files. Because it requires hardware, its likely we'd never see Fab implement that in StreamFab.

From what I have seen, the ones doing 4K don't want it known as they 'claim' to be afraid, then that the providers find out how, whether it's just a L1 or more involved, instead of L3, which L3 are easy to get.But I also think it was stated that extra hardware would be needed.I think SF would be looked down on by those who do the 4k if SF came with a way to get 4K, and more aggressively, SF would be pursued and blocked by the stream providers.As they know, they can charge more to provide 4K content. Netflix does, and as stated, HBO Max, or whatever name they are using at this time, has 4k. Most pay providers seem to have a package that offers it, but I don't think I ever saw one for Amazon, though.When I saw HD come, and saw how long it took a certain cable provider to offer HD, and it was very limited for a very long time. I have not checked on the availability of 4K, I always had hopes of one day saving up the money for a 4K TV. Once I get a set amount, I will start looking for sales, although then my cable provider needs to swap the cable box to a 4K compatible box, as the one I have is only capable of 1080p. I do try to get 4K downloads now in some way or another, for when I may finally get a 4K TV. I can send files via Plex to my Roku, which has been able to do 4K. 1080p was a big improvement from 480p or even 540p, so it's still good when money is tight. And right now, the 4K movies will play on Roku, but knowing it's a 1080p TV, only show it on the TV as 1080p.Also, unfortunately, I think many providers only offer 4K through their streaming app on a 4K-capable streaming device or TV. I could possibly find, once I get a 4K TV, that Amazon does have some movies in 4K, although they mark them UHD, but I think so does Hulu. I do know I have no plans of updating my Netflix plan to get 4k from them, although I do have the ad-free plan.

Originally, Disney+ only had one plan. I've been subscribed for years and have never been able to download anything in 4K. Originally, only 720p was possible. Now, newer content can be downloaded in 1080p HDR10/DV. HDR 10/DV also applies to 720p.

Really?? Downloading 4K From Fandango at Home would be a game changer for me. I would mean that I could download my 4K digital purchases (including MoviesAnywhere eligible titles) in 4K :eek:

and still includes WidevineCdm 4.10.2891.0

The WidevineCdm update to 4.10.2934.0 is performed with Chrome 142 (current beta)

So if P+ were to require this, no TV with a current
browser would be able to receive titles in FHD !

So that's impossible at the moment, and the 540p limitation is already 10 weeks old ..

The German audio track is EAC3 5.1 at 256 kbps with dynamic range compression for almost everything. So far, I've only encountered a German Atmos track in the german production "Sam - Ein Sachse". I have a Premium annual subscription that's about to end. Since the price has gone up again, I might switch.
By the way, the picture quality on Disney+ is already quite good at 720p, as they offer significantly higher data rates than Amazon or Netflix.

and the data rate is higher because most of the content is offered in h.264. most of the amazon content is h.265 and netflix offers nearly everything in av1. obviously h.264 is less efficient and needs more data.

I got another good news today, Disney+ video also can be downloaded as 4K HDR10/Dolby Vision quality.

The developers are working on this, it will be released soon.

(Got the first 4K Dolby Vision test video just now, may can be released next week)

I didn't claim to have checked the entire Disney catalog for German Atmos.
h264 is correct for older content; newer content is also available in h265, with exceptions. And here, too, the data rates are on average higher than on Amazon or Netflix. And while Amazon generally offers three data rates for 1080p and two data rates for 720p, Disney usually offers a choice of four to six data rates for both.

That is very good news.
I hope it also means the h265 streams will be unlocked for a lot of shows that only seem to offer h264 in SF, but you can find h265 elsewhere. (such as Hulu via D+)
