Wilson.Wang for what it’s worth: I’m hitting exactly the same 720p/AAC wall with TV shows, but Sky Cinema seems to be just fine at 1080p. The TV shows are 1080p on my Hisense U8, however… Something’s clearly missing in the entitlement requests for the shows… 🤷‍♂️

Also, the playback in the browser window of SF doesn’t seem to get cancelled once the download gets going, but that’s a minor issue at the moment 😉

Yes, it’s very odd.

Cinema + Entertainment + Boost:
Movies: 1080p
TV Show: 720p

Cinema + Entertainment & HBO Max + Boost:

I get to download TV Show as 1080p after upgrade to “Entertainment & HBO Max”.

I think that the best quality is 720p for the TV Show “Girls” and “The White Lotus S01”.

Thanks Wilson. I’ve tried the new beta version (beta version 2) and my results are:

1) I can now download Girls Season 1 Episode 1 but only in 720p:

2) As Girls is an older series, I also tested Allen vs Farrow Episode 1 (which was another that was producing the "Failed to obtain the decryption key, please contact us for assistance.” error in the previous versions) and again that now downloads but only in 720p:

3) You asked me about The White Lotus Season 2 Episode 1 and yes I can download that in 1080p but I could with the previous beta version, it’s The White Lotus Season 1 Episode 1 that I can only download in 720p and that hasn’t changed in the latest beta version:

Do you mean:

i) “the best quality is 720p” via StreamFab, or do you mean:
ii) that those shows don’t have 1080p versions available on Now?

I’ve just tried Euphoria Season 1 Episode 1 (another HBO show) and again that only downloads in 720p as well. I’m fairly sure that will be available in 1080p.

And I added a log in my post this morning for Allen vs Farrow (HBO documentary) Episode 1 and that only downloads as 720p.

Have you passed this log to the developer and is there anything they’re still working on to try to get 1080p working for everything on Now TV?

After today’s release, I was still only able to download at 720p.

For the sake of seeing if films downloaded at 1080p, I took out a 7 day trial of the Cinema Membership and I was able to download films at 1080p, but still only 720p for TV Shows.

I then paid for the Entertainment & HBO Max membership and everything now seems to be downloading at 1080p.

I tried Euphoria, and that downloaded at 1080p, so I then tried the previous TV Shows I’d been downloading at 720p and I am now getting everything at 1080p whether that be HBO shows or anything else.

neo_ukss I think it’s safe to say that as things stand currently, one needs HBO subs on NOWtv to download 1080p shows as well as Boost, but that doesn’t apply to film releases?

Thanks for your update. You’ve mentioned you downloaded Euphoria at 1080p. Do you mean Season 1 of Euphoria, as I’ve got the same as you (Cinema, Entertainment & HBO Max and Ultra Boost) and I’ve tried that with 7.0.2.7 and 7.0.2.8 but still only get it in 720p. I’ve also tried Season 2 of Euphoria and only get 720p as well. I can get Season 3 of Euphoria in 1080p.

My theory is that if it’s been broadcast on Sky, it ends up in a core Now “catch up” catalogue for a certain period of time (which varies from show to show), which is separate from the standard HBO catalogue but this is a total guess, based on me trying to spot the patterns.

This site isn’t foolproof but it only shows Euphora Season 3 on Now Entertainment: [https://www.artesea.co.uk/nowtv/boxsets.php](https://), which again I’m using to show what I think is a distinction between the Now Entertainment “core” catalogue and the separate HBO catalogue which is accessible on Now.

Similarly, that site also only shows The Comeback Season 3 available on Now and that’s the only season that I can download in 1080p.

The site also shows The White Lotus Season 2 and 3 available (both downloadable for me in 1080p) but not season 1 (only downloadable in 720p).

For me, Entertainment Package with either boost or Ultra boost only gave me 720p.

Entertainment package & HBO Max with Boost or Ultra Boost gives me 1080p for all TV Shows, not just HBO ones.

I didn’t try films prior to taking out the Cinema sub so I can’t comment, but I think all films are locked until you Sub with Cinema. I could be wrong.

I’m still hoping that @neo_ukss will reply to my post above to clarify whether they can download Season 1 and 2 of Euphoria in 1080p but can you let me know if you can download them in 1080p using 7028?

Here is a log using 7028 for you to share with developer which shows a download of Euphoria Season 1 Episode 1 in 720p and then a download of Euphoria Season 3 Episode 1 in 1080p.

As I mentioned in my post above, my experience is that if a Now show is listed on this site: [https://www.artesea.co.uk/nowtv/boxsets.php] then it is downloadable in 1080p but if it isn’t, then it is only downloadable in 720p.
