SDH track when recording from PBS

In trying to recording the new Ken Burns documentary, The American Revolution, I find that I am getting the SDH (Subtitles for Deaf and Hearing Impaired) track. I have found no way to either stop it from downloading or stripping it out after the fact.

Surely I’m not the first to encounter this problem. Can anyone point me in a direction to alleviate this problem?

I don’t download from PBS, but when the download window comes up, does it give a selection on srt or not?
If so then uncheck them.

If i dont want to see subs or cc i just turn them off when playing the videos, for videos that have them.
VLC video player is good for this, or most videos i watch through my PC via plex to roku and there is options to turn them on or off.

I have similar issues downloading ONLY from PBS
SF parses the episodes, but only recognizes 1 choice for each.
Subtitles only has 1 choice - “English” and what downloads is SDH subs, which I can live with.
Audio offers 1 track - “English” and that’s a Descriptive audio track with things like “hero walks down a dark street”
NO other options given for audio or subs

Downloading from other places gives multiple choices for audio & subs
Streaming the PBS episode gives the proper “English” audio and standard subs
So this is a problem with the SF module and how it parses PBS

Ok, good to know. I am guessing it’s been like that awhile.
Most that can be done is to tell streamfab feedback …
Somewhere along they will pass it to the developer and the developer decides when or even if it gets fixed.

I’ve been complaining about getting Descriptive Audio only for months. I haven’t had the SDH subtitles though. I have a solution for the Descriptive Audio only though and maybe it’ll help for the SDH problem. Once in awhile SF issues a “fix” that seems to work for some shows but not all. It seems to be a problem with some channels’ MPD downloads (not just PBS). What does work is to keep analyzing the video and waiting until M3U8 pops up. Then choose it. It took me quite awhile to download The American Revolution from PBS but I finally have all the episodes without the Descriptive Audio. Most of the time the MPD button is the only button that pops up. Sometimes an M3U8 button will pop up above the MPD button several seconds later. If it doesn’t, I close PBS and try again. Sometimes M3U8 will show up regularly. Sometimes I have to try over and over until it finally shows up. MPD has the Descriptive Audio track only while M3U8 has the audio track with the Descriptive Audio track. I don’t know why they can’t fix this.
