What happens is that it shows many options available with different bitrates, but the reality is that Apple TV only has a few available. StreamFab shows you more variety, which is confusing, and when I select, for example, the first option with the lowest bitrate, it downloads the lowest possible bitrate that Apple TV has, which is normally around 2700 for all its content. The thing is, sometimes it doesn’t download that specific content, which usually has the lowest bitrate, and downloads another one with a higher bitrate of around 4800, but if you select, for example, the second option shown in the image, which has a bitrate of 4976, then it does download the episode in question, which has a bitrate of around 2700. Do you understand? Sometimes I have to select the first option, then the second, the third, etc. until StreamFab considers that option to be valid and downloads the episode with the lowest bitrate. In fact, I downloaded an episode earlier (I don’t remember the serie) and had to select the fourth option marked by StreamFab, which would be around +6k bitrate, but in reality it was the 2700 I mentioned.
The conclusion of all this is that StreamFab should only show what Apple TV has available, regardless of whether it shows the actual bitrate in the StreamFab interface or not. Ideally, it should show it, but if it doesn’t, it’s not a big deal, because I don’t think Apple TV has many options with different bitrates in 1080p. It probably has 3 or 4, I guess.
In the image and gif, you can see that I selected the lowest possible option, and only the first episode downloaded at a bitrate of 2700, while the others downloaded at 4800. So, my temporary solution is to keep selecting other bitrate options offered by StreamFab until it downloads at 2700, but this is frustrating when you want to download several series.
