No subtitles except through playback on Amazon

I don’t suppose Streamfab can do anything about this?

Acorn TV’s series Backstrom has no subtitles to download, and seasons 2 and 3 don’t have forced subtitles either. However, when S2 or s3 are played back directly on Amazon with their “subtitles: ON” feature, there are, indeed, English subtitles.

Any way of getting them to download?

Does streamfab get subtitles for Amazon content for you?

If yes, then it might be an issue with Acorn TV, through Amazon.

Yeah, Streamfab is pretty good about giving me subtitles. I was just hoping they could do something in this circumstance. Others who have discovered this issue have been told by Acorn that it’s an Amazon issue, and Amazon blames Acorn and while they were duking it out I was hoping Streamfab could get in there unnoticed and steal the subtitles Amazon is displaying ;-)

use aggressivemonkey, tampermonkey or something like that in your browser of choice
get that script installed

go to a show or movie on your amazon platform notice the gray bar on the centertop of the site
click to see which options you have
you’ll get the subs on that way clean and untouched not like the formatting kills which happen with sf
if you have the untouched subs get subtitle edit and convert to .srt for example to be able to use them in .mkv container afterwards
