I have always enjoyed purchasing your products, and over the years you have earned a significant amount of money from me alone: I purchased your software for lifetime use.

Now, suddenly, I am expected to pay extra to use the modules, simply because they allegedly run via the cloud.
However, I do not want this; I would like to use the modules as usual, without the cloud.
Supposedly, it should be possible to set it to local. Unfortunately, I have not been able to locate this option!

If this is a way to get money out of users’ pockets through the back door, then I can tell you for myself that your company is dead to me! I will not buy any modules from you.

So make Subtitle and Colorizer available again without the cloud. You should stop development of Translater for now. Until you see how users react to this business model. In any case, I will only buy the Translater module without the cloud.

Exactly, why we need to pay for something that we have already payed for?? I as well don’t see option to choose local mode only?? I have the needed hardware. Or do we need to use all our credits first and then to be left to use only local mode and not pay, but I recon we gonna wait 3-4 hrs for one movie to be translated, even we have new and powerful hardware. This is a joke.

II myself also have the necessary equipment (196 GB RAM, 5090 RTX Nvidia graphics card, and of course an Intel processor). I’m just afraid that people won’t be given the choice (between local or cloud).

The company is slowly coming to an end. Existing customers have mostly purchased lifetime versions and not subscriptions. You can already see it now. For new customers, lifetime updates only mean from the main version to the next main version. Existing customers always get new main versions. You simply can’t make any money with existing customers anymore; they just cost money.

Yes and i have 365Fab Abo, i pay yearly. why i should pay extra for things that was included in the program? Dont find the Local-Modus like its written on the website. so the Subtitle Generator i pay for is useless until i pay for credits????

And instead of listening to customers and improving the program, they’re releasing yet another new, more expensive version to force customers to buy it quickly. The conversions and upscaling features that made the program attractive are now being switched to a credit system, meaning you have to pay extra for each conversion again. So, I’m out. My subscription is canceled, and that’s it. If they don’t care about their loyal customers, there are other options.

So how can we use this with our hardware and not with the cloud? or is this useless now?????

Sadly, the announcement conveniently overlooks fab365 users.
What a ripoff!! Why even force user to use cloud when past versions had a local option.

The Unifab site still even says:

So where is the Local Mode choice for people who don’t want to feel ripped off?!!

That’s horrible. Why not make it a choice to use the cloud or not use the cloud!
Previous versions had no cloud option.
That’s not right to make people pay for something they should not need. It was not required in the past versions, no need for future versions, unless there is a choice to use or not to use the cloud.
Even the website says there is a local option, WTH!
(Cloud Mode, Local + Cloud Mode, Local Mode)

I am not saying the whole cloud idea is bad, but let people choose either local or cloud, knowing that if they use the cloud, they will need to pay EXTRA.
I actually would not be surprised that you still get many to use the cloud, but it MUST be a choice.

TBH i tried and still take credits, I got pissed a lot and took very famous subtitle program, experimented with some LLM’s to find the “better” one and believe me or don’t I get 97 same result, yes there are parts better translated from unifab but on the other side there are also better parts translated from my local LLM, so I am looking now how to fine tune the model and 100% sure it will outperform the unifab model, we will see.
As for the part that is free for lifetime users now, will check these days and get back with answer, last time it took around 10 credits for a movie to translate.
