Everything is getting d/l in this low quality. Is this something across the board, or am I getting it in error? I’ve been getting it for months so I figure it possibly could be in error, but thought I’d ask just in case.

I gave up ages ago and just use PRIME video subscription to get P+ at 1080p/5.1

simchris we shouldn’t have to use an ‘alternate’ solution, which costs people more, rather than using the solution provided that should work because we paid for it.

Sure. In a perfect world. However, there are many technical limitations on how SF can rip streams from certain providers who often change direction, DRM, connections, output options based on device, etc.

There is no guarantee any of this stuff will work forever. If you want 1080p, get a sub via PRIME and cancel your direct sub. Life is too short, use the working solution this year, and move on.

Except, this has already been broken. The SF staff simply just don’t want to do their jobs here and spend the time necessary to fix the problem

I think they are doing their jobs very well for a non subscription solution they have to constantly update to work at all.

But it is a subscription! I get StreamFab with my Fab365 annual subscription.

The problem with “Just get rid of your regular Paramount+ subscription and get it on Prime,” is that Prime subscription does not include 4K HDR titles to view like the Paramount+ subscription does. It’s limited to 1080p.

The bottom line is that the Paramount+ module has been broken for months and should be at the top of the fix list.

So I am not sure what is going on, but I wonder if we are being throttled on an account level. This morning I had saw the error about 540p for the first time. I ended up pausing all my paramount plus downloads I have cued, and went to work figuring I would look at it this evening. I was reading up on everyones comments when i figure what the hell, I will select a random movie to download from Paramount+ at the highest setting and see what happens. Well, it downloaded at 1080 no errors. There haven’t been any updates to the program today, all I did was pause it for 10 hours and tried again.

Now, I figured I would try again and now I am getting the 540p restriction again. I don’t get it. I was able to download for the last few days with no problem. That’s why I wonder if they are throttling us. I ill stop and try again tomorrow and let you know if it changes.

Nope, in some countries (with different accounts) I get always 1080p

But as written more then three times in North America (US/CA)
it’s almost always the 540p limit.
Only some older releases are there possible in 1080p (for me)

I never got 4K from P+ here in the US, but maybe that’s just me.
Also got lots of timeouts via the VIP, so ended up using P+ via Prime to get some of my old purchased 720p and 480p stuff in 1080p. All done and moved on.

If you are getting 4K via P+ VIP module, I salute your amazing luck! That’s fantastic.

1080p that works, is better than 4K that does not work, in my book.

Just being conversational, there is no right or wrong answer.

That’s funny thinking P+ VIP module could DL in 4K.

I was addressing the other forum members who say to just drop you P+ and go to Prime. P+ has many titles you can VIEW in 4K UHD. Those same titles on Prime with P+ are limited to 1080p. Switching to Prime is just a work-around for fab.

Not many disagree. But when SF staff go silent, we as SF users have nothing we can say or do to expedite things.
SF has only made one statement since Paramount first went into 540:

(NOTE: Due to some upgrade for Paramount+, new videos can only be downloaded in a maximum resolution of 540p. We are still investigating this issue.)

And now the same for Discovery+, although that still gets, for now, 720p.

Discovery+ also has a DRM upgraded now like Paramount+, some of videos will be downloaded 720p only.

The dev is working on this.

Look, Paramount+ in the US has been stuck at 540 since August.
Most times I don’t even stick up for SF, but it was users saying to get 1080p downloads use Paramount+ through Amazon.
Yes, you win some, lose some. Maybe then you can’t even watch Paramount in 4k through Amazon, and maybe you could via the Paramount website. SF staff never said anything.
I could get access to Paramount+ through my cable provider, but I surely don’t want 540 downloads.
I was considering Paramount+ after the new year via Amazon, if nothing has changed with the Paramount+ website with SF.
It is also said that specific areas outside the USA can get 1080p fine. But who wants to do that, either?
Using a VPN and making other countries subs for Paramount+.

We only know what was said, and I say it again, it was said only once back in August, by SF staff:
