Attention macOS (10.10 - 15.x) users!

Until November 24, 2025, when the current latest version 6263 was released, and until December 10, 2025, the system requirements were “macOS 10.10 - 15.x.” However, despite being the same version, the system requirements have now changed to macOS 11.0 or later.
I contacted support because it was crashing, and got a surprising answer.
I understand that StreamFab7 will likely undergo significant changes and will require macOS 11.0 or later, but I have never heard of a case where the system requirements have changed for the same version.
Is this inevitable since there are so few macOS (10.10 - 15.x) users?

11 year old operating system may have some security update, or there may be some library they no longer support, or whatever. They may also have updated the website to reflect the impending new version requirements. Dunno. Probably need to ask them directly.

Yes, I think it’s more a security issue. If the OS is no longer getting updated as far as security updates, software developers tend to move on away from them. Win 7 it happened. One of the main reasons Win10 is still ok is MS backed down and still supplies security updates for Win10, plus Win11 is just a copy of Win10 with a different interface and added trash & ads. Unfortunately for me, when it was time to get a new computer, Win11 or Win11Pro was the only choice as the new computers only had that. I live with Win11Pro and just got used to it. I know it has issues, but that’s the way it is.
Many moved from Windows to Ubuntu or similar like Zorin, which both can have Wine and Bottles to run Windows apps.
It’s the way it is and many don’t like it, but the software products don’t care. Their positions are use it or don’t.
My time, I cut back on tinkering with other OS. I do still have VM’s with Win10, Win11, Zorin and Ubuntu, just don’t use them much.
Never had the opportunity to find or get MAC software to make a VM for that.
And now Mac is getting so behind in updates from Streamfab. Still no V7 and no update lately even to V6.

Thank you simchris and Stan001 for your answers.
I am using macOS 10.15.7, but support has ended and no security updates or libraries are being distributed.
I contacted support directly and received the following response:
“Until now, we have supported macOS 10.x, but due to recent advances in browser technology and strengthening security requirements, we have limited the supported environment to macOS 11.0 or later in order to ensure stable operation and safety.”
For the reasons above, it is understandable that the new version StreamFab7 is not compatible with macOS (10.10 - 15.x).
However, the company blocked all macOS (10.10-15.x) users from using the current latest version, 6263, without any prior official notice, even though it was compatible with macOS (10.10-15.x) at the time of release.
In other words, the company forced users to make fundamental changes to their system environment, even though the company lacked the technical capabilities to do so.

Let me use an analogy.
I’m not an expert on Windows, so please forgive me if I’m wrong.
I’m using Windows 7. However, most of the market is using Windows 11.
Adobe Photoshop CS6 is compatible with Windows 7, and updates are available.
However, imagine that an update was released to be compatible with Windows 7, but then, without any prior notice, you were suddenly told that it couldn’t be used on anything other than Windows 11.

I can’t say why one day 6263 worked and then next it don’t. And it doesn’t look like support will say either from what you say.
I do see v7 not working, although they have yet to come out with v7 for Mac.

But upgrading OS is what they look as progress.
I just can say I was in a lucky situation where others gave me, at the time, a new Win7 laptop.
Well over time we all know Win7 died out and Win10 took its place.
With the laptop not even wanting to update to Win10, and the battery was acting up, I just had to finally trash the laptop.
I could find No browser that worked on Win 7 any longer.

And things are even worse now with Win11. So many either having to try to keep Win10 working or trashing their PC because the PC won’t install or upgrade to Win11. That’s what they call progress.
Plus, 99+% of software refuse to support Win7 since it’s so old. It’s been so long, I don’t even remember when php for windows stopped support for Win7. It was a long time ago, though,
And many at that time did not want Win10. In the end, no matter the OS, they have major updates that won’t work with some programs or some programs don’t work with the updated OS. I have seen it with Windows and Ubuntu. And if software is not maintained, then you can be stuck.

So we either choose to keep updating to newer OS or soon give up, or as one member here decided, to do a dull boot system with Win7 and Win11.
