New Blu-ray Reading/writing error control

Hi all my recent Blu-ray HD discs fail with the error box reading:writing error control. Reinstalled passkey same. Old discs fine new 4k discs fine, but new HD same error. Now I have just deactivated blupath and it’s now copying!!! I will check later to see if the playlist is good. But DVDfab there is something I think needs looking at

That sounds exactly what I am experiencing, except turning of Blupath doesn’t help for me.
I need to reboot between every disc that is decrypted.

I have a similar problem. At first, I thought that some films were not in the database for decryption. Then I thought it was the drive. And that seems to be the case in some way. However, it is not broken, but does not work well with Passkey. There were some discs (mostly new ones from Germany) where I got the same error message as Martincottrell. Suddenly, the drive designation in Explorer had also changed from BD to CD and showed no disc title. At some point, nothing could be loaded anymore. Restarting the computer sometimes helped, but not with the problematic discs. As a test, I ripped the Blu-ray to the hard drive. Passkey was then able to decrypt the ISO file.
When I installed the complete dvdfab package on a trial basis a few months ago, I kept getting messages saying that the drive needed to be optimised for the programme (I can’t remember the exact wording). Could that be a possible solution? How and where can I do that?
Unfortunately, none of the developers have commented in this thread, so finding a solution is difficult…

The message about needing to upgrade or downgrade the firmware, I’ve never done that.
My Asus drive has a firmware to make it a UHD drive (technically it is, but sold as a Blu-ray drive).
The other one is a UHD drive from LG.
In all my years with Passkey I’ve never let it touch my drives.

I really think there is either a issue with the program since a couple of versions, or Windows doing something new and weird, because it can.
But I have no proof, and since we can’t download older versions of Passkey I can’t test it either.

I’ve been holding of ripping Blu-ray series for months now because of this issue.
Having to reboot the computer after each disc is simply not acceptable.
