4K Disney Duplicated Movie Versions?

When downloading some 4K Disney movies, I have noticed that sometimes under “Extras” there is the same filename as the movie, same size, same length but without the official movie poster as file thumbnail.

Usually different versions of a movie are named accordingly like “IMAX Enhanced” or “Movie with director commentary”, etc.

Example: Black Widow (2021)
There is the main movie “Black Widow” with the poster as thumbnail and under Extras is another “Black Widow” with a scene from the movie as thumbnail.

Are these just duplications or actual different versions?

JeRicHoOL what happens when you click the “extras” tab on the actual movie page in the browser, how does what you get there differ from what SF offers in the download window?

Alright, it seems to be a bug with StreamFab then.

Browser outside of SF: There is only 1x Black Widow under extras which is the trailer (3 minutes).

Here is the download window for SF. As you can see there is the main movie at the top with the cover poster. Under extras there is the trailer named “Black Widow” 1m59s.

And there is a “Black Widow” movie at the bottom.

Now here are my downloads:

The “suspicious” movie seems to be a duplication of the main movie then but with the thumbnail of one of the extras, in this case “Deleted Scene - It was all me”.

JeRicHoOL so if you “select all” you’ll get exactly three downloads of the movie:-

1 - “Black Widow” from the main feature,
2 - “Black Widow” from “versions”; and
3 - “IMAX Enhanced - Black Widow” from “versions”

(because the versions tab does have at least two versions, usually, otherwise it’d be pointless to have the versions tab ;) )

So the “Black Widow” from versions is the same as “Black Widow” from the main feature? How do you know though? If that’s the case then it’s quite confusing to list things twice under different tabs. I checked both files with media info and the only difference is the description text, so it’s not like SF grabbed the same file twice, unless that’s another bug that it grabbed a different meta data description.

And then we still have the different thumbnails for the main feature and the “versions” version.

And as Germania indicated, there seems to be even another bug with the IMAX version not being the IMAX version. This is all frustrating. 😔

JeRicHoOL the “default feature” is what Disney “think” is best suited for your setup (and it’s in the set of “versions”), the “version” version allows you to manually pick one version or another.

You can always check the aspect ratios of the two versions from “versions” 🤷‍♂️
