Amazon titles in 4k not giving the 4k option in resolution

An example of this is Die Hard. The movie is in 4k. Amazon states it is in 4k. Streamfab is not giving the option to download the movie in 4k either in H264 or H265 via CVBR or CBR. Max resolution is 1920×800 to select from.

Is this a bug right now?

Amazon and all its subscription offerings has not had 4K, only 1080p, even with premium plans, for the “apps” or browsers that SF can “rip from.” But the bitrate is pretty good and all modern TVs and/or AVRs do upscaling really well.

I would argue most Prime 1080p content looks better than HBO 4K content when ripped.

simchris are you saying that Amazon has never had 4k content or that SF has never been able to rip 4k content from Amazon? Amazon has put out 4k content. I thought I had ripped some stuff from Amazon in the past and grabbed it in 4k.

It would be great if we could get the 4k HDR10 content from them if that’s never been a feature. I thought that it was already a thing.

I’m not giving much a damn about a comparison with HBO 4k given that if a series is only found on Amazon such as Fallout, I would like to get it in the maximum resolution the provider offers it.

I have been using SF for 2.5 years, and during that time
it has never been possible or claimed that 4K
could be downloaded from Amazon using SF.

SF can only dl from PV what is offered in Chrome and 4K
is not available in Chrome (at any provider I know of).

Hi, of course you can watch content in 4K on Prime, it’s just not possible to stream rip the “online version” above 1080p. Long time user, and don’t recall it ever being in 4K. When I came back last Jan., it has only been 1080p this past 12 months.

But again, the quality is very good.

I don’t give a damn if you don’t care about a bitrate comparison. Good luck!

The Scene has their own methods of getting 4K from AMZ. Maybe some day SF will do it, much like they do on DSNP or HLU.

And even if there was even 1 day SF did 4k, SF has not downloaded in 4k in the last 3 years, at least.

Not saying SF never will, as they get 4k from Fandango and Apple TV and some other providers.
But it will be awhile if SF ever even attempts it.
You think the Amazon bans are bad now, imagine what were to happen if SF did 4k on Amazon.

Maybe you got it via torrents or some other method, or from what is known as the Scene.
Do research, as the other methods are not going to be stated here by me.
