I usually don’t have any problems with the analysis
(see also: Stuck on analyzing video)
-> although this can change daily !
but if you want to get more than 480p, don’t get your hopes up.

There is no program that can guarantee a resolution
higher than 480p for all titles at all times.

It’s a matter of opinion
For the above reason, I rarely use it and don’t buy/rent anything from YT.
In my opinion, this only makes sense if you need to get non-English audio or subtitles.

As far as I can tell, you can (mostly) download higher resolutions,
but SF can’t get the decryption key for > 480p for rented titles.

I tell people the best way to check is via browser. If movie/show is 480 in browser, SF won’t get the key(s) for 720 or 1080.
There are, believe it or not, movies in 720 and 1080, in movies with ads, via browser, and then SF gets the keys for it and downloads at that resolution.

As for availability of other downloaders, downloading, none that I have seen even download at all because of the DRM.
There was one for a while, a downloader, but that also could not get the key(s) for the higher resolutions.
Now it doesn’t get them at all.
And any type of recording/downloader should be limited to what a browser can get.
