I would like to share a recurring issue I’ve encountered and propose a solution to the developers.
As a non-native English speaker, having English subtitles is essential for me when downloading streaming content (.mp4 or .mkv). Currently, I often find that subtitles are missing from the downloaded files, regardless of whether I choose the embedded or separated (.srt) mode.
While the “separated” mode seems slightly more reliable, the error still occurs frequently. This forces me to re-download the entire video/audio file just to try and get the subtitle again, which is a significant waste of time and bandwidth.
My Request: I would like to request a feature to download subtitles separately without needing to re-download the entire video file.
This would resolve the issue because:
It saves time and data for users when the initial subtitle download fails.
It allows users to quickly “fix” an incomplete download by grabbing just the .srt file.
It provides a better experience for the international community who relies on subtitles.
