Noticed on Netflix that some shows change from episode to episode.

Example: On Castlevania Nocturne Season 2, 3 episodes were in HDR but the others were not. Or in another show the codec changed from AV1 to h264 depending on the season.

I can understand the codec changing between seasons but them alternating between HDR and SDR depending on episode in the same season, that just doesn’t seem right.

This also varies with other providers ..

HBO Max sometimes disappears H264 1080p within a season (sample)
PrimeVideo also occasionally has individual episodes that are not available in H265 (sample)

back to NF - do you mean H265 HDR10 or AV1 HDR ?

So you’re obviously referring to AV1 - I only got 3 HDRs there

The individual analyses also yield the same results ..
.. so there is no error while downloading.

That was already the case with AV1 HDR at the beginning ..
.. first detected with “Pulse” - scroll down to post 19 here

Error 702 occurs (for reasons unknown to me) with the new AV1 HDR10 offer in 2nd pic
(s01e01+02 is currently not offered as HDR10)

Ok, thanks. Didn’t realize they had issues with AV1 HDR for that. Mine was 1080p though.

Edit: Still learning this, how did you pull up that menu where you can compare the episodes like that? Or did you download them all first?
