Subtitles and fallback not working properly

The subtitles are downloaded, but the names for the tracks are not transferred. This means you don’t know which ones are forced, and you can’t recognize the CC tracks either.

Furthermore, the fallback doesn’t seem to work. MediaInfo shows me DoVi, but no information about HDR10.

and three video formats in all countries.

I said that Streamfab downloads it. I had the subtitles muxed into the file. But when I want to select the subtitles in VLC Player or Jellyfin, I can’t tell them apart. It just says Track ½/3 etc.

In MKVToolnix, the name for the track is also empty. I have to assign the name manually for each file and each track.

And normally, the MediaInfo tool should show Dolby Vision and HDR for the HDR track (in case of fallback). But I don’t have that. Only Dolby Vision.

This applies to every video. But as an example of both problems, I’ll just mention Superman in 4K and MKV (not MP4). In Germany.

I get with SF HDR dl this info:

HDR format: Dolby Vision, Version 1.0, Profile 8.1, dvhe.08.03, BL+RPU, no metadata compression, HDR10 compatible / SMPTE ST 2086, Version HDR10, HDR10 compatible / SMPTE ST 2086, Version HDR10, HDR10 compatible

and this is the same info (from Max) as in untouched/encrypted source

Use VIP Video Format mkvtoolnix (and set forced to default if you like)

workaround for ffmpeg:
Extract both to srt and merge them in mkvtoolnix ..
.. then the language, default and forced is automatically included

edit:
That the first sub is number 3 in VLC is surely not a problem ..
.. and my (decent) player doesn’t even show the IDs
(and remembers whether I’m using forced or full subs)

Why do you have dvhe.08.03? Mine says dvhe.05.06 and I am using Dolby Vision (HDR10 compatible) in VIP settings and choose Dolby Vision when I analyze a movie. Or do I have to choose HDR10 there? Like Dolby Vision in VIP and HDR10 when analyzing to get both?

And I am already using mkvtoolnix for subtitles. Forced tracks are forced but they are not labeled like this. Mine doesn’t say default, forced in the name. It is empty.

When I analyze something in 1-2 hours I am uploading a log file.

so I used HDR10 - with DoVi I get also:

and this is also the original info of untouched/encrypted offer
