Got to the bottom of YouTube issues (file is empty, etc.)

After seeing many posts, I decided to look into it further.
You can NOT use the paste URL option.
I went back as far as, 6267.
Can only guess something changed as far as this via YouTube.
So, for now, copy and paste the URL into SF address bar.
Putting YouTube links in the address bar works, or just navigate in SF to YouTube and click on videos you want downloaded.

Disclaimer for current, longtime and new members, we are all only long time SF users with added knowledge of fixing some issues and reading logs. NO one here that I know of gets paid to help. ADDED:

Some of the known symptoms can include video stuck in queue downloading (showing 0%), video finally downloading and getting the error “the downloaded file is empty.”
There may be more, as it’s long to troubleshoot.

This is only about YouTube.com.

Thank you so much Stan! I have been getting this “downloaded file is empty” message all day and it was driving me crazy. This fix works for now, but I hope they get it back to normal sooner than later.

Tried both methods with Jaw2hEE6RAs. It still gets to 48% before deciding that the file is empty

Then it could be a location issue or VPN use.
Can’t try every video every location, but at least 98% of file empty are because of using paste url option.
Maybe that too will get fixed someday. If I try the video it says something about blocked from my location,

As I’m in the UK at the moment, location should not be an issue. However, I have now tried it with VPN linked to Glasgow, and it won’t even start, although it says it is downloading
