andrew.collins Basically, how is this done when ripping a Blu-ray? I just want to burn the forced subtitles into the video, not as a selectable track but as a permanent part of the video, but I don’t see the option anywhere.
Mona You can follow these steps to burn forced subtitles into the MKV video: Select Track: In the main window, preview subtitle tracks during foreign-language scenes. And select this specific subtitle track from the list under the Subtitle tab. Set to Forced Only: In the Subtitle tab → Check “Display Only Forced Subtitle”. This isolates the forced parts from the full track. Enable the “Scan Forced Subtitles” option to make it accurate. Enable Burn-in: Open Advanced Settings → Subtitle → Select “Direct Render”. This burns the subtitles permanently into the video.
andrew.collins Thanks, although the Subtitle option to enable direct render does not appear on MKV Passthrough, I can only see that option when using another format like MP4.
Mona andrew.collins The burn subtitle process needs to reencode the video. The passthrough profile copies audio and video streams directly from the source to the output without re-encoding, preserving the original quality and speed.
