I’ve been having intermittent problems with the file resolution in Qobuz since the downloader was released. Hopefully someone can tell me what I’m doing wrong.
In the downloader, the default file type is set to FLAC. On Qobuz, I’m setting playback to “HiRes 24-Bit /up to 192kHz”.
I select a HiRes album (the specific album makes no difference). Next I tell it to analyze. If I see this pop up, I’m good to go for as long as the downloader is running. The number of albums in the queue makes no difference.
Quality
X FLAC - Up to 192kHz
O FLAC - Up to 96 kHz
O FLAC - 44.1 kHz
That’s what I want and all the downloads come in at the highest available resolution.
At some point, when I launch MusicFAB and the Qobuz downloader, I’ll ask it to analyze an album and I get this:
Quality
X FLAC
When I see that everything downloads at 44.1kHz/16bit.
This has happened at least 50 times now, and each time I think I finally figured out how to get it to change back. Unfortunately the next time it happens, my “fix” doesn’t work.
This is crazy. It might not do it for a month or it could do it several times a day. Some of the things I’ve tried are:
Uninstalling and reinstalling.
Logging out of Qobuz
Changing the defaults to mp3 and then back to FLAC
Clearing the Cache
Restarting the program
I eventually get it back to where it analyzes the albums correctly. That might take 3 minutes or 45 minutes.
It’s extremely frustrating and since I’m not seeing anyone else asking about this it’s probably something I’m doing wrong.
Two things that seem to increase the likely hood of this happening are “running MusicFAB a second time within 24 hours” and “running StreamFAB in between MusicFAB runs”.
Any tips on how I can prevent this from happening would be greatly appreciated.
