YouTube Stays In Analyzing Phase…Please Correct…Thank You

This might be a repeat Post, but I didn’t notice that was posted before, so please forgive the repeat. I installed the latest version of the software 7012, but every time I try downloading anything, music, movies, even audiobooks I get continuous analyzing. I have even tried restoring previous versions of the software with no luck, I’m using windows 10 and 11, I’ve tried clearing cookies, cache, and history with results, even rebooted the computers. Is anyone else having similar issues?

Pitching in. This is happening to me, too. To add in this, for past videos in queue, attempting to download them will give the “This video is not available” message when it actually is. This is a hit-or-miss in every situation - some videos will download, some will not.

Same here, in the previous version I used to able to download videos at 1080p selecting the VP9 codec, but that option disappeared in the last week (you tube must have done something). I could only select H264 format, however, I did have some success downloading in 720 resolution.

Now in the new version I cannot get past the analysing video screen.

And as I have written for years now - SF needs to scrap their proprietary version of YT-dlp called YoutubeToMP3Process (and their associated YoutubeToMP3Service) and allow us to use the latest (either stable or nightly) version of yt-dlp. The developers of yt-dlp are constantly working on overcoming the roadblocks and twists and turns that Google adds to YouTube to prevent you from downloading files. Yt-dlp does all the work in getting SF to download from YouTube. Unfortunately, SF has chosen to go with a proprietary form of yt-dlp, which they do not usually keep up to date. It is not unusual for YouTubeToMP3Process to be two or more weeks behind. That means that all the bug and security fixes found in the latest version of yt-dlp are not being used by SF. Odds are that by the time SF uses the fixes, Google will have already moved on with new roadblocks and twists. Come on, Developer, just use straight yt-dlp so that we could replace it (using a simple copy) with the latest version that the yt-dlp folks have made available. Many other YouTube (aka non-DRM) downloaders available for free or at low cost have the feature to download the latest yt-dlp automatically before any download is attempted. That’s why these apps work and SF doesn’t. Why do you insist on using out-of-date background programs until there is an outcry because things aren’t working right?

Then you are probably using an outdated Windows version or Mac - see post 29 here
Because all Win users with current release no longer receive them - see above

btw: Why do (mostly) all YouTube users think they need to create a new topic?

Any YouTube movie issues, make ONE post and label it YouTube Movies.
I highly doubt they work right, and I know the last I checked didn’t get CC or SRT.

Any separate posts will either be eliminated, locked, or merged into this topic.

After brief testing, if you log out of YouTube in SF, videos have been working. This is not a 100% fix, and if it’s an age-restricted video, you may not be able to get it with SF. You can try the next day to see, but until a new version of SF comes, it can’t be fixed by any user. Uninstalling and installing, deleting cache, etc., this is one issue none will fix.

YouTube’s goal is to STOP users from downloading, as it removes their precious ads. So they now seem to make changes daily to stop or limit any downloads.

DavidAHarden If You Are Logged In To YouTube, Log Out Of YouTube And Try Again…That Worked For Me When I Was Having The Same Issue…Hope This Helps…

hm, yesterday the procedrue worked (logging out of YT) - today it’s once again stuck in analyzing.

Tried to login and logout again - no effect…

Same here, logged out of YouTube, restarted StreamFab and logged back in - nothing changed such at analyzing video(s), please wait …..

Since YouTube only works when you are signed out. What is the solution if YouTube wants you to sign-in to prove that you’re not a bot?

I downloaded a few videos (I think less than 5, each between 10-20 minutes) last weekend just fine. I tried again last night and this morning and wasn’t able to get past the analyzing stage.

I tried directly pasting the link to each video, tried different videos from different creators with different lengths, and then fully uninstalled and reinstalled the app. None are working. I’m not having any other issues with other services.

I checked the logs and nothing is showing up because nothing is technically failing, just stuck.

Any ideas for things to try?
