Turns out it’s module-dependent on when it shows or doesn’t output parentheses in the filename.
I tested 9 services this morning with these results:
2 didn’t output the year at all and replaced () with underscores: Fandango at Home, Roku
4 output the year and replaced () with underscores: Apple TV, HBO Max, Hulu, Peacock
3 output the year and () as supplied in the Movie Template: Amazon, Disney+, Netflix
I’ll reports this to SF via the Feedback button.
