I use Pioneer drives, but older ones: BDR-206 and BDR-207M. Looks like Pioneer left the optical disc business as of May 2025.
I would think the latest Pioneer 2213 would work fine, just like the older drives. So, when you say the 2213 is not compatible, does that mean it is not detected by DVDFab, or that DVDFab throws an error saying it won’t work, or it just fails to work when trying to rip a disc?
Looks like maybe ASUS is left, with a $170 drive on Newegg, That seems pretty high for a PC drive, but I think recent demand pushed up prices for name brand drives. If I suddenly needed a drive I would probably get one of the $70 generics, try it out, and send it back if it didn’t work.
